They are made in Venice, Italy so they do cost a bit more. SBM carries them for 12 bucks, and the PBs are 11. They last a log time too being uncoated strings so they are worth it, IMHO.

YMWV of course.

turned out to be a far more difficult search effort than finding a cold beer...
Hi Westerly Wood,
in the meantime, my Dogal 80/20 12ers arrived and I have put them on my GV-70. And I have to say I am very, very pleased. Thanks a lot for the recommendation. It is not the last set I will order.

ah good to hear!
btw, their phosphor bronze strings are not as great.... IMHO.
it seems their 80/20s are the ones to buy. Their PBs go dead super fast and are just kind of lame. D'A PBs way better.

:)

I am a big fan of GHS Americana Bronze strings (they are somewhat higher tension than is normal for their nominal gauge). Availability is spotty though, so d'A EJ16s otherwise.

My favorite strings so far on my JF 30 are DR Rares and EJ17, but I have a set of Dogals on my Southern Jumbo and love them a lot

just new to this site, but also am a member of gibson acoustic owners.Just recently purchased my first guild,an f2512e.a friend has one ,and i love playing it,so i bought one, next ill go up to a 1512.But for now, im enthralled with this guitar.Im a retro monel guy through and through, so thats the strings i replaced for the daddarios that came on it.What i found was tuning down a full step with these strings ,was like night and day tone wise. Its like this jumbos sweetspot for tone, projection, playability etc..This guild is killer, and that means something ,coming from a guy that also owns a 2012 gibson 12 string songwriter. I will be checking out other guild 12ers in the future.
