Dear Guild enthusiasts

I am considering purchasing a Guild Starfire vi (current model) and have a question about the acoustic qualities of this guitar

I mainly play fingerpicking style and jazz and I like a guitar that offers a bit of resistance when playing. I do not use picks or fingerpicks.
In my environment is a lot of electromagnetic interference, which is audible through amplifiers. Therefore, I am forced to practice mostly acoustically without amplification.

My question:
In your experience, does an unamplified Guild Starfire iv (current model) offer enough volume, resonance and sound quality to be of use to me in practice situations? Or is it acoustically a "dead" and therefore somewhat uninspiring instrument?

It would be nice if someone could help me with this assessment
Kind regards, Gerard (Netherlands)

Welcome - my experience does not apply because it comes from basses and the newest is from 2013. I can hear them well enough acoustically that I can practice effectively but realistically I get out headphones and a headphone amp if I am serious about practicing.

Interference can be dealt with. Over the years I have learned to not play when the microwave is in use, my cell phone is near by, a cordless phone is in the vicinity or a light with a dimmer is on. The bass pickups get a lot of interference and my playing position effects how bad the interference is. My worst case scenario is I dial down the treble, back off on the bass' volume and get an acceptable level of sound by adjusting the amp.

I have a Korean starfire iv and unamplified it does not " generate" much sound. You can hear a sound oblously but it is not exactly very inspiring.
Why not consider a Korean made Aristocrat M75 reissue (fully hollow) ? That guitar really gives a nice and pleasing sound even not amplified .( Do not confuse this guitar with the Chinese made Aristocrat "P 90" which is only chambered and will probably will not have that nice unamplified sound. )

My Newark Street SF IV is not very loud acoustically. However, I have a Newark Street Starfire II ST and it has a louder voice and I think that could be a good choice. It is a single cutaway hollow body and uses the same pickups as the SF IV.
