First Jerry Jeff, now Billy Joe Shaver. Been a fan of his writing since I hear his first (?) LP, around 1971. Interestingly, my Pawless Mesquite Special has top braces made from scrap Vince had left from a guitar he made for Billy Joe. Six degrees of separation (or maybe fewer).

Definitely a terrible week. I'm also a fan - he wrote some great songs.

Separation or not, I would treasure that Pawless. That is special.

Been a fan of both for many moons - damn sad to see them gone.
Was knocked out by Shaver's Tramp on Your Street album (early 90s), and his son Eddy
was a great guitarist who tragically left the planet way too young.
First heard JJW in high school, decades later songs still sound great.

Here's a kickin' dose of Shaver!

Would have been amazing to see him, his son and Dickie Betts tooling around on the back porch
