Well, I've struck a deal with Guitar Guys in Heath, Ohio for the righty GAD-F212E. It is in the process of being converted to a lefty. New bone nut, re-angled bone saddle and I wouldn't be surprised if Rick, one of the owners who is doing the work, adds a pickguard for my side. Since it has the polyester finish, the righty pickguard should be no problem to remove and shouldn't leave a shadow in the finish.
I'll be sure to post a pic of this beauty in all's it's Ice Tea Burst glory.
Strumming it upside down revealed such a lush clear tone, I can't wait to strum my way. I was skeptical of it being made overseas, but after reading an article in Acoustic Guitar of how Donnie Wade personally set-up the shop and defined the details of how these GAD's are to be constructed and with what, and having played this one, it is an incredible value. I've already written a song in Dropped D tuning for it, "The Good Shepherd".
