Brick is likely correct, it sounds to me like the high e is pinched in the nut slot. Smooth the slot out and it’ll be a great guitar for $500 (y)

Unless I am sorely mistaken, it looks like there is a thin riser installed under the bridge in the picture.

I still hear the buzzing it when he's fretting, that rules out the nut.

I'm at a loss. It probably is a break angle thing, but there is a little bit of saddle left and it shouldn't be. I'd really need to see the bridge I guess.

But I would try a different brand of strings, some strings don't sit right under the pegs and can do that.

I didn’t notice anything under the bridge, but does look like a patch job was done just above the pickguard and leading up to the bridge. What is that extra bit of wood there?

Bryan Kimsey has quite a few evaluation videos. Recently one was an evaluation of how to assess if a guitar needs a neck reset. Watch as many as you can. They are invaluable.

I see what you mean, but I think that dark "riser" is actually just the edge, and what looks like the "layer" above it is actually the ramp from that little ridge on each side where the wings are scalloped thinner at the edges.

Think it's fooling the eye due to compressed depth and focal length.

I might post in for sale if anybody wants a project. But something about this one….I like it.

Have you verified that the frets are all seated properly?A high fret down near the soundhole can cause buzzing, no matter where you fret. Its a cheap and fast verification.
