Hey there, first post.
I'm mostly a Gretsch guy but have been offered a Guild as a partial trade for a tweed Deluxe clone I built.
It's a '64 T-100 with an added pickup.
It's seen a bit of action but I don't especially mind that and I know it's a good guitar having played it.
The neck is refinned and probably reset. The bridge pickup is obviously non-original and is a Gibson 'bucker. Tuners are changed and the bridge is non-original.
Here are some pics;

Any ideas on value?

Thanks,
Tommy.

Hi Tommy,
Looks like my kind of guitar--a solid player. Mod it guilt free, and play it like mad. What I love about '62-'64 archtops are the the necks. They just feel great.

Judging from condition and non-original parts, I can see someone paying anywhere from $600-$800 for that guitar, depending on playability, functionality, the seller's mood, the buyer's GAS, color of the room's wallpaper, barometric pressure, state of soybean futures, and any other random factor which seemingly affects the vintage guitar market nowadays.

If so desired, it can probably be brought back to fairly stock Guild parts (notice I didn't say original) without too much trouble. You have all the knobs and pickguard, half the battle. That white-topped Dearmond single coil is pretty rare. You'd be all smiles if you could score some Franz single coils, or at the least P-90s to drop in, and she would sing oh so sweetly.

Welcome to LTG :D

Thanks man. I think a trade for the amp, a spare FilterTron pickup the guy needs and a bit of cash would be a fair deal, no?
The pickup is a metal-covered single coil. The light makes it look white on the top.

Wise words form JP. The cool factor is built in. If you like the way it feels, plays, and sounds then have at it. You have an excellent opportunity to make it you own in terms of aesthetics and features.

Once you go Guild - you'll never go back.

Yeah, I think I'll be fairly happy with it as-is. I tend to only play guitars with master volume controls but I'm sure I can use the Gibson/Guild layout just as well with a little practice.

I love vintage beaters. My main guitar is a seriously messed-with 1954 Gretsch Duo Jet;

This Guild looks right up my street. The 'bucker is a Pat. No. Gibson, so it could be any time from '63-'75, should work well for the kind of music I play.
I've got a late '50s Bigsby B6 that could go on it though...

Sounds like a great deal, as long as it's worth it to you to part with your amp.

I see. Then it may be a Hagstrom Adjustomatic, also stock on some Guilds from that era.

Sweet little Duo Jet! Good luck with the T-100. There's a bad pic of my refinned '59 T-100D in this thread.

ziess, that is one awesome amp. I've played through one of those only once, and I liked it very much - too clean for what I do, but still probably the nicest twin I ever played through.

Thanks man. I can get a bit of grit at gigging volumes with the Dynas on the Jet when the Presence control is up high. Speaker choice is a big factor too.
Did you try the trem? It's phenomenal.
I think I recognise your username from the GDP, would that be right?

Ziess, yes, used to post quite a bit on there.

Yes, fantastic trem! I have two surf-guitarist friends who have the brownface showman equivalent, same chassis, have played those two a bit more than the twin, twin briefly belonged to a dealer I know. Brownface Fenders have the best trem on Fenders ever indeed!

I had one from that era about 30 years ago. It really sounded nice through a similar vintage Ampeg Reverberocket.
