1. The fact that I'm able to able to still keep my wife at home and take care of her.

But you're right, it was clearly her fault.

I used a fork. She was a bit of a bully. She was an all important 13 year old eighth grader, and I but a lowly 12 year old seventh grader, less than 5 feet tall and weighing in at a whopping 70 pounds. I guess I was an easy target. I didn't really hurt her, just a scratch that didn't even bleed, but oddly enough she never caused me any more trouble after that. Probably just a coincidence.

Grateful for:

My family, particularly my grandson.
The gift of music that was bestowed to me at birth. I'm the only one of the seven grandchildren who got it.
Our comfortable home (mortgage-free), my instruments and a good job, finally, with a company that values my age and experience.

I will be thankful for making through the day....as I have the pleasure of driving 8 hours in holiday traffic w/ my 85 yr old mother in the back seat. As soon as I put the car in gear, she slips back into her alter ego of being a ruthless driving instructor.
