I need to let this excellent 2021 Guild D-40 Traditional in sunburst go because a "dream" guitar has come up for grabs not too far from me. I can't afford to keep this one and buy that one, unfortunately, as the "dream" guitar is pricey.

In the time that I've had this Guild, I've tweaked the action a bit and put a new set of Elixir Lights on it. And I have a better set of rosewood bridge pins for it on the way from Maury's, should be here today. Otherwise, this guitar is all original and pretty much like new. I can find three small impressions on the top and a couple even smaller ones on the back. The case is the same. But to be on the safe side, I'll call it "Excellent."

It is a very fine guitar. It might be even finer with medium strings on it. It is a large and powerful guitar, good for flatpicking, strumming, or fingerpicking. It can roar, it can whisper. Very versatile.

Lots of photos and additional details here: https://rockies.craigslist.org/msg/d/buena-vista-2021-guild-40-traditional/7514102583.html

The guitar has developed a lacquer check on the top over the center seam which runs from the soundhole to the bridge. The seam is intact. Very hard to see. Lots of photos here: https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=651722

Guitar is priced accordingly.

I know you ladies and gents know what this is, so I'll stop there. But please contact me if you have any questions. My price is $1500 plus $100 shipping.

Thanks. I am in central Colorado.

This guitar has developed a finish flaw directly over the center seam on the top. It runs from the soundhole to the bottom of the guitar. I checked with my guitar tech, who was puzzled about it (he knows his Guilds), but he advised that there was no reason to cleat anything. I also talked to Guild Corp.. The guy there was sympathetic but said that there was nothing he could do for me since I am not the original owner.

Again, it is in the finish only. It is very faint and difficult to photograph. I cannot feel anything unusual from the inside (see photos). Please contact me if you have any questions about this.

Because of this, I will reduce the price of this nice Guild to $1700 plus $100 shipping.

It is dry. So I keep a Planet Waves humidifier in each of my cases, and run a humidifier in my guitar room.

Haven't had a humidity-related problem in the 5 years that we've lived up here. But this is the first (almost) new guitar I've purchased, all my others have had at least a few years on them.
