Hey all! After years of waiting, I finally bought my dream guitar back in December - a Guild D-55. I ordered it through a local dealer and it arrived about a month later. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to play it as my wife and I started our search for our first home shortly after. As luck would have it, we ended up getting our first house about a month after I got my hands on this guitar. After much talking, debating, soul searching, etc., I've decided to sell the guitar so that she and I can use the money to make the new place really feel like home and make some upgrades. It's hard for me to let it go after dreaming about it for so long, but I know its for the best (at least for now!). I've had the guitar listed on Reverb, eBay, and my local craigslist / Facebook marketplace, but I figured I would post here as well just in case anyone here is in the market. The links and description are below. Please note that the craigslist price is for local pickup (Boise, ID area) with cash; eBay and Reverb are more expensive due to shipping and the fees associated with those sites. Like the ads say, if you're interested and have any questions or want more specific pictures, please don't hesitate to ask. We can also speak on the phone if you'd like. Just let me know! Thanks for looking.

- Jeremy

I'm really sad to hear of the reason for this sale. You sure your wife doesn't have some cherished jewelry or something that couldn't be used for the same purpose? Or maybe you EACH sell something of value to gain the funds for the work you need done. Sorry, it just always seems like it's the guys guitar. Good luck with the sale. Buying a home is important.

I like Tom's way of thinking. If this were just some guitar in your collection that would be one thing. But you said this is your "dream" guitar. There must be some alternatives to parting with a guitar that could give you a lifetime of enjoyment.

Of course, we're guitar enablers around here...

It's all good, and she's by no means making me sell the guitar. I came to her with the idea, and she's even asked me several times if I'd rather just keep it. She's a good wife! But selling it is what I think is best for what we have going on and what we're planning on in the future. Gotta prioritize, you know?

And you bought new. So you're gonna lose some serious money by selling a guitar that you bought new. "Planning for the future" would've been buying a used one so you could keep it. I'm not trying to talk you out of this (I am, totally) but there's got to be a way to change your timeline a bit so that you don't have to sell your cherished D55. Unless you really don't care for the guitar all that much, and then for cripes sake cut us loose here. We help people to buy and keep guitars. Not get rid of them. So if you thought you'd be met with happiness and joy at you selling your "dream guitar" think again. Put it off for a while. Maybe something will come up........ hopefully. Just think when you're 26 years down the line with it like I am with my D65S and I can look at it and remember every moment I had with that guitar over those years and I bought it new. It's never been someone else's guitar. Only mine! I want you to have that!!

I'm still with Tom on this; there must be some alternative! That money will be here and gone in a heartbeat if it goes to a home improvement project. That Guild will provide you with much more satisfaction than some drywall and paint will. And, it's a top-shelf Guild to boot!

Can't you like pledge your firstborn male child or something? LOL

Well, if you've made the decision to sell then so be it. Welcome to the site.

A D-55 is a wonderful axe, but there are many of them around so eventually you'll come back to it. Good luck with the sale.

Welcome to LTG! Sorry your first post is about selling your dream guitar. Hopefully once you get settled in you'll find another. Guild is still making them. :)
