Hello,:)
I'm new to this Guild forum and have to ask those who might own a 2014 Guild Special Run M-85 II bass guitar what is the model number of the hard shell case made by the T.K.L company for this specific bass guitar?🧐The 2014 Guild Special Run M-85 II bass guitar case has black tolex with dark burgundy felt/fuzzy interior with the Made to be Played gold logo badge.Lastly if you own a 2014 Guild Special Run M-85 II bass guitar please post photos of your Guild bass guitar?

Welcome to LTG! There is one picture which multiple shops re-used, it has the white case label on the handle. Maybe somebody has that original large size picture saved from back in January 2014? The below is only 1000x1000 and I cannot read what is written on the label even if I enlage it, the resolution is too low with 1000x1000.

the OG case for that bass was too small and apparently more than half of these came back with broken headstocks, as a result.

some were sold without the case towards the end of NH, like the one I own. At the time I bought it, I was not aware of the factory case size issue. I called the TKL custom shop and they would not duplicate the OG case for me- with no explination- which was quite frustrating. they offered to build me a custom "TKL Cedar Creek" case for about 400 or 500 or something totally ridiculous like that, to which i passed. I bought a couple cases from Guardian and Epiphone, both were close but neither fit. i finally bought a Jack Cassady/Starfire Bass case made by epiphone, and customized the inside with foam and fabric for a perfect fit. now that ive done it once i could possibly duplicate that case insert much easier and faster

Welcome to LTG Black Cat, and I have a late 2013 GSR M85II with the original case, and also have a black cat!

What mavuser said previously is true. The OEM cases for these basses were not the best fit, and combined with the large headstock resulted in about half of the 12 or so that were made coming back with headstock breaks. Even if you could find one of these, you'll end up paying what is quite likely much more than they're worth. I'm not sure if you're interested, but a while back a friend gave me a case that he thinks was originally for a Les Paul Bass. He didn't need or want it, so I took it with mavuser (who lives near me) in mind. He's happy with his modded Casady Signature case, so he declined. It's not the greatest case, but I thought it was too nice to just throw out. It's lightly built, and has only three latches, but unlike the OEM case, it does fit the M85II snugly, as you can see in these photos.

If you want the case. I'd be happy to send it to you for the cost of shipping. PM me an address, and I'll get you a quote.

Thank you for the generous offer on the used bass guitar case. I'm on the hunt for a 2014 T.K.L Guild Special Run M-85 II Made to be Played factory bass guitar case.

I have a feeling that they're pretty much unobtanium. Good luck, and if you change your mind, the offer will pretty much stand, unless I can find someone else to unload it on! 😄

I'm not sure I understand what you say here. So do you still own that one from 8th Street and you lost the case ? Because it came with the case, right? And you did not get the hangtag on the case with the case model number as shown on the picture? I'm confused.

i just looked back at my old emails and edited my above post. it was a "cedar creek" custom shop tkl case they offered me for "$450 and up" (not rain song).

also i did have the model number from that white hang tag at some point, it was told to me i think by tkl over the phone. if i find it ill post it. they would not remake the case though. at least not for me. they wanted me to measure my bass and send them the specs and build me one for "starting at $450" and send it to me

You did catch the comment that the "original", factory provided HSC was woefully inadequate and resulted in several basses damaged in shipment? Specifically, at least half of the basses made were damaged in shipment and the individual in purchasing who changed the case specifications in order to purchase a cheaper case allegedly lost their job over that mistake. So if you want the original case because you are collecting then never mind, but if you want a case to protect the instrument you should consider alternatives.

For the public record.
I'm not the original owner of this 2014 Guild Special Run M-85 II bass guitar. I purchased this 2014 Guild Special Run M-85 II bass guitar used in 2020 without the factory T.K.L Guild Made to be Played hard shell bass guitar case and without the case factory tag barcode. Guild bass guitar brown leather strap, as well as the Guild owners manual pamphlet. Aside from playing bass guitar I do like to collect various older musical gear and instruments and I would like to find the above mentioned 2014 Guild bass guitar items.🧐

OK.

To manage your expectations these basses were made in very small quantities and some of those suffered headstock breaks that were not repaired by Guild because of the abrupt closure of New Hartford. Some of the basses were sold without cases and case candy so there will be fewer cases than basses. The strap pictured above was not exclusive to basses but is what Guild shipped with GSR and other higher end instruments so you should be able to find the same strap so long as provenance back to a GSR M-85-II is not required.

Good hunting.

there was clearly an issue w the case, and they stopped making them before the run of basses were completed in the factory. so only a small handful of those cases exist, and all would presumably be paired off with a GSR M-85 bass, already.

you could offer Twocorgis an absurd amount of money for his case, and try to convince him to use his les paul bass case for his own GSR M-85 bass. However the TKL Cedar Creek case they wanted to build me started at $450 and up plus tax and plus shipping, and that was 6 or 7 years ago...so again I emphasize this case would have to be worth quite a bit to you to even make an offer. with that said, i'm sure a winning number exists if u really need to pry one loose, and he already has a back up case. and again, i'd guess that winning number would be ridiculously and insultingly high...at least by my standards. but if u are a real heavy hitter and just need the case and that is that- I am the first guy to respect that and say go for it!! TwoCorgis is a friend of mine and i'm sure he plans to keep the case, but u never know! i would sell one for crazy money if i had one

Since finding an original case for the GSR M-85 II is an basically impossible task the only other case would be the case of the 2014 introduced M-85 Bass. I'd assume that one would fit the GSR M-85 II as well.

The strap can be found on many internet shops:
