I bought this guitar in need of some love some time ago, and had it shipped directly to Tom Jacobs in Florida for the required rehab. At the time it had what the seller described as a "center seam separation" (it wasn't, it was a crack), and also what I feared was the beginnings of a shifting neck block, due to the telltale crack from the end of the fretboard to the soundhole.
Tom went above and beyond the call as he always does, and not only cleated the top crack, he drop filled it with nitro and smoothed it over. He also shored up under the sound hole to keep that from moving any further. In his opinion (and my luthier's as well), it is stable now, and shouldn't be a concern in the future. Here's some photos.
The action had come up a small amount in the time it has been back from Tom, so I brought it to my guy for a setup, and it has just returned. Action is super low at 5/64" on the bass side, and 2/32" on the treble side. Neck angle is excellent on this guitar, and the straightedge lands right where you'd want it to.
OHSC is included. The lid stay has come adrift, and I've just left it that way. Serial number dates it to 2013.
At some point, this guitar had a pickup installed, and arrived to me with a StewMac NoJack endpin replacement. It is drilled for a 1/4" output jack if you want to add a pickup. All in all, this is a very nice guitar whose issues have all been addressed by the best people I know. It's not perfect, but it's not priced that way either, given that these are over $4000 new now.
Price is the $1700 that I have into it to LTGers in good standing, hopefully somebody I know. Insured shipping will be by FedEx Ground from zip 11754. I have Heritage Insurance, so that will save some on the cost. Local pickup is welcome if you're close. I feel this is a very fair price for a guitar that has been well sorted.
