Do these look like the original pickups on this '99 Bluesbird at Thunder Road Guitars? Pole screws appear gold in some of the pictures and can't tell if it's just the angle of reflection or something else. And, if gold, they could be originals that someone changed out the pole screws for aesthetics.

Hard to say, the SD Classic Covers can be used on multiple SD Humbuckers. You would only se if you pull the and see the lable on the underside of the pickups. But probably really only the polepieces changed to gold.

Can't answer your question, but that is a great looking Bluesbird!

Why not message them and ask?

I did reach out and quickly heard back, "Both pickups have Patent Applied For stickers on the bottoms leading me to think they are likely replaced."

Props to Thunder Road for the quick response and honest answer. Still mulling it over but don't want to get stuck wondering which humbuckers might sound better than these and go down that rabbit hole.

Frank (I think the owner) there is a decent guy. I've consigned a bunch of stuff there and never had an issue. Glad to hear he was straight up with you.

Calling to let them know you are serious and not just an internet tire kicker might get you more information and/or photos.

I don’t think originality would be a deal breaker for me on that guitar since it didn’t come with HB1s to begin with. Plus it’s so pretty!

So with the PAF stickers they could be for instance Gibson '57 Classic (neck) and Super '57 (bridge) pickups. Not sure how one would ever find out if the white sticker with the name/partnumber is no longer there.
