I can’t imagine they’re any more prone to warping than any other flattop ever made. Only ones I seen that were badly warped looked like they were not well cared for. It doesn’t matter if it’s a $200 plywood starter or a $6k custom Martin, if you treat a guitar poorly enough they’ll warp and crack.

I made contact with the seller.

Not promising. A few more things wrong with guitar than initially stated. Not willing to provide pics of the areas of the guitar I want to see.

A scouring of the Internet and a reaching out to guitar freaks/dealers shows that the guitar is not all that rare, uncommon but not rare. Prices are variable. $400+ for something which is a bit of a cosmetic disaster but structurally sound with non-original HS case. Up to $1,100 or so for something in like-new condition, pretty much never played, with original perfect HS case and all case candy and original bill of sale. Some of the mid price ones have upgraded electronics with better/newer onboard pre-amps, and pretty much all of them come with HS cases, most with original cases..

The starting price the seller is asking may be a little high.

Still curious.

The guitar has this style of pre-amp:

It does not appear to be one of the unclip-and-flip-open for battery compartment models.

Where is the battery compartment of this model? The battery holder on the one for sale is broken.

It seems to be a battery holder clip on the inside of that Fishman transducer, you access it through the sound hole if I understand it correctly.

EDIT: Obviously not used in that way, see Hans post below!

Thanks. The battery holder was broken in some unspecified way.

The guitar is gone now. The price started to plummet as the end of the month, moving day for the seller, approached, and it was gone before I could even consider making arrangements to go see it.

Long drive away anyway.

And then there is always the profound philosophical question as to whether money in the piggy bank is better than another guitar or not.

No he got the DCE3, the maple-body version. (He said without verifying first :D)
That is correct Al! I love it! Richard has a Tennessee Orange DCE3 on the verb for $850.. I know out the previously discussed price range but it is a beaut and Richard takes really good care of his instruments. Not to mention he is super straightforward. Here is the link.
