It seems to be a battery holder clip on the inside of that Fishman transducer, you access it through the sound hole if I understand it correctly.Where is the battery compartment of this model? The battery holder on the one for sale is broken.

Oh! Thanks Hans, I never noticed that before.If it really is a DCE5 from 1996 I would expect the guitar to have a battery 'drawer' next to the end pin jack at the bottom of the guitar!
That is correct Al! I love it! Richard has a Tennessee Orange DCE3 on the verb for $850.. I know out the previously discussed price range but it is a beaut and Richard takes really good care of his instruments. Not to mention he is super straightforward. Here is the link.No he got the DCE3, the maple-body version. (He said without verifying first )
