Last night I scored a nice Mark II in great condition with original case (250.00). The label had come off and was inside the case. I would like to reapply it but not sure where it goes. There is a vertical brace with a Guild stamp on it in the center of the back. Does the label cover the brace or is it placed on either side? Any suggestion on the kind of glue to use?

Thanks[/list]

Hello bluechicken,

In the past it was not unusual for Guild to position the label on top of the center back strip. Around the time that your guitar was made the label was usually placed in the position shown in this photo.

As far as the glue is concerned you will probably get the best results using the adhesive they use for the mounting of photos. It's kind of a double stick foil that you can buy on a roll.

Sincerely,

Hey bluechicken - nice score! That seems like a good deal. My Mark II just arrived today - I paid $355 for a good condition 1968. Once I clean it up it will be very nice.
