Well, I gave it the old college try. However I’ve decided to sell the GF60R just over a year after having purchased it from Richard P. This is probably my favorite guitar in terms of… well everything… except for the cursed 1-11/16 nut.
The top is an amazing shimmery Engelmann spruce, with EIR back and sides. Dark ebony neck with diamond inlay and ebony bridge. Bone nut and saddle. Size wize this is a small jumbo with 16 in lower bout and 4-1/2 inch depth. Very comfortable and the overall tone is in between an OM and Dread. It plays like a dream (if you like a 1-11/16 nut). The action is an optimal 3/32, but there is no room to go lower on the saddle. Apparently it’s been like that for at least 10 years. See here

The S/N on the headstock (...050) does not match the label (...011), and the neck block is stamped GF50. However, Hans is aware of this guitar and confirms everything is correct as this was a very early first year build and, well... Guild. In today's market this would be in the high $2K range, but it is priced accordingly for the low saddle should you ever decide to reset the neck down the road. Both Tom J and my luthier said to leave it as is. I'm offering it to LTG members at my cost of $2100 plus US shipping. Offered here first for a week before I post it elsewhere. Layaway available. I would like for this one to remain in the family.
I will consider trade deals involving an Orpheum mahogany OM or SS 14 fret.

Luthier Kim Walker Era Guild Acoustic Guitars??
I was reading on Kim Walkers web site that he was hired by Guild in the late 80's to do R&D for Guild. It looks like he worked there till about 94 or so. I'm curious does anyone know which models he had a hand in coming up with or redesigning? If you aren't familiar with Walker Acoustic...
