W Eddy:
That is a beautiful Starfire IV. Being today is Sunday, that picture serves as one, truly, religious experience!

Man that is gorgeous! I would not want, say, a red Les Paul, but a red SF, yes please!
My one complaint about my SF 4 is the location of the P/U switch; yours takes care of that. Fantastic guitar.

That's every feature I'd want in Starfire semi-hollow. Those fretboard inlays are so much larger than on earlier models.

Beautiful example and thanks for posting!

I bet that sounds like heaven.
Plays/sound = the best. Stays in tune forever. Don't know much about it but, sf4 ch spec. Inlays, bigsby/roller bridge, phase switch, pickups Jumbo frets. Last year original run sf4 . A bit heavy but amazing tone/ resonance.

They had dots in the 80's.It' a 1 off W/ large inlays + 2 extra, you don't see 10 on Guilds

They put the switch upper bout in 85/86. I so agree with you.

Blocks look to be MOP, rather than pearloid. I don't think Guild ever had blocks that big (or that far down the fretboard). Is there any chance they were an aftermarket addition? If original, whoever ordered it really had the ear of somebody in the factory, b/c I don't think this is what you'd have come away with if you just spec'd off a SF-4 with blocks and a Bigsby.

Is that red-over-maple? Cool-as-hell guitar!

Don't know for sure. But when I got it it was absolutely mint++. Since then it has been one of my main giging guitars.
Its almost 35 years old and I only own it for about 1 so I have no back story on it.
