The cream of my crop, the bee's knees, my betrothed is my 1979 S300 in transparent red. Special ordered new by the lady I bought it from and guarded. If Jimi hadn't passed, I would have to fight him for it. Only weekends, and only the good songs
Wow. That looks fresh from the factory! The cream of my crop, the bee's knees, my betrothed is my 1979 S300 in transparent red. Special ordered new by the lady I bought it from and guarded. If Jimi hadn't passed, I would have to fight him for it. Only weekends, and only the good songs
It really is man thanks! Special ordered lefty ordered straight from Guild for a lady's birthday in '79! It is such a smooth guitar to play. Put it this way, I tune it by ear or by tuner pedal. A Snark won't be touching her neck lol.Wow. That looks fresh from the factory!
Guild had people that really loved what they did for a living! That is hard proof right there, and that is the Back!I can't find a photo of the front of my S-300-AD and it's not in the house right now, but here's a photo of the back, as an example of the sunburst finish Guild put on them. (Or, shall I say, Tobacco Burst?)

I heard the Ash is weighty but it's a tone machine.I can't find a photo of the front of my S-300-AD and it's not in the house right now, but here's a photo of the back, as an example of the sunburst finish Guild put on them. (Or, shall I say, Tobacco Burst?)

Yes on both counts: weighty and tone machine, really nice necks on them as well.I heard the Ash is weighty but it's a tone machine.
Thanks for posting this. Great guitars and a great read!
I noticed they have a strip inlayed down the neck. Is that hogany for reinforcement? Those guitars had shredder necks before Shredder was a term! I'm sure it is a super stable neck, they need little or no attention. Congrats! Whatever you need to do, that will eat up the job.Yes on both counts: weighty and tone machine, really nice necks on them as well.

Here's a very thorough review of the S-300AD by @GAD that should answer a lot of questions for you. My S300-AD looks like the very first photo in the article.I noticed they have a strip inlayed down the neck. Is that hogany for reinforcement? Friends don't let friends use Snarks.A Snark won't be touching her neck lol.

I just had to google what a Snark was.90+ percent of the people here probably have and use Snarks.
I've never seen one of those guitar case tool kits. Very cool.I use a pedal tuner* if I need a tuner. Or a tuning fork. All the Snarks that have been gifted to me were unreliable junk and thus filed, the "round file".
And I'd never buy a better clip on tuner, I seriously still like my Sabine 1500, have two of them, priceless. Very good at tuning down.
* I don't use a pedal tuner often but when I do... I'm a huge fan of the TC Electronic Polytune, great screen and way to mute your signal when changing axes.
I even like to just play into the tuner to watch it dance around to the music, great screen.
Sabine tuner visible on the right, darn good little units.
I can be snarky without the need of one, apparently snarky about the Snark.I just had to google what a Snark was.
