1975 M-80CS Hello,This is my first time on any forum so here goes.I am trying to find out how many M-80CS's were made in 1975 & more important to me what # is mine. My I.D.# is 118240 I already know Guild made 17,501 guitars that year and mine was the 5,437th made. Also it is all origonal with the case & key,but need's some cosmetic work but I am afraid I may hurt the value if I decide to sell some day.I miss playing it but I do Have another to jam on. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

I don't know the answer to your question, but I know however many were made, they were sweet. I've been on the search for one for over a year now and they seem to be a rare breed. Do we get to look at it?

Welcome to teh forum, sixstring!
Why can't you play it? :( My Starfire looks like it's been chained to the back of a pickup and drug over gravel roads and I can play it. I'll second Dane's opinion, I always thought they were sweet guitars.

You can use photobucket or imageshack or even Picassa to post pics.
Linked this from somewhere else....

Welcome to LTG, sixstring! Would love to see pics of your M-80. They're quite uncommon, even here in Guild country.

Hi Thanks to all for the warm welcome everyone.I could play it the only reason I put it down is I live in the sticks and at the time the nearest place to get strings was 50 or 60 miles away. I happened on a cheep axe to hold me over and had the guild stored for about 10 years. When I pulled it out and wiped it down the glue on the plastic fret markers had deteriorated and started coming off. I showed it to a friend at work who knows a restorer and his jaw about hit the ground , He said she was rare and I should research it so here I am. I tried to drop and drag a pic on to a reply post but I don't think it worked so I'm working on that. I may have to inlist the help ov my kids as I'm no computer guru.

Thanks again I went to imageshack and registered . Once I get a password I will post a pic. I'm wating for an e-mail from them . Getting a pic up is my first priority, So I can get back to finding out more about the most BEAUTIFUL instrument I'v ever owned. I here there is a way to break down the serial # to actual production dates or # of the model produced sometimes! I read a fellow named Hans may be able to help with that. I'll be trying to find the parts I need . It's been so long since I held her I forgot how sweet she felt . I'm really not a good enough player to do her justice. but I love to play and their is always room for improvement.

Man, that's a hot guitar! Very cool. Are the PUs original Guild HB-1s? Can't see in the pic.

Yes She is 100 % origonal. If you save this pic to your comp. and preview it with a picture viewer you will be able to zoom in on any part of it. lik I said just needs cosmetics , the leed switch does pop up to the neutrel position sometimes but I think that could be tightened up easily.
