So, I have two F 40's. One has been down to Tom Jacobs to "get healed" and it is superb. It is going nowhere. The other I picked up for $1,200 on either Reverb or Ebay (can't remember) knowing it was in need of a neck reset. But, at $1,200 I felt I'd have room to get that done and still at least break even if not make a few bucks if I chose to do so. It came with the OHSC which does have the tolex lifting on one spot in particular. It also had a fairly strong musty smell but I think I've gotten that pretty much under control. Or, I likely have a generic non Guild case that would fit the guitar just fine if a buyer would rather do that.
Price on this F-40 is $1,200 and I'll split the shipping costs which are typically in the $100 range unless it's on the West Coast or far West, then it costs a bit more.
I've got a boatload of guitars with Tom now and would prefer to not add another repair to his pile of Peterson guitars. Also, I really don't need two F 40's and I'm planning for my next Richie Crowder Custom built guitar so I've listed a few on CL. As far as I know, this one is structurally fine and there are no cracks. It does need the neck reset IMHO. You don't see these come up for sale very often. If it doesn't sell, I will get the neck reset done and then sell at a higher price.
I'd prefer to ship this when the weather gets a bit more humane but will "winter ship" provided I have a firm agreement with the buyer about safely unpacking a guitar being delivered from a far Northern climate.
I also have a nice GF 60 and a really nice 1975 Starfire ll listed on NE Michigan CL (along with a few very nice Martins) if there's any interest in those. Prices would be less for an LTG member than what is posted on CL.

1974 Guild F 40-USA-Maple-HSC - musical instruments - by owner - sale
This is one of my most favorite Guild models. I have two of them. It is a vintage, 1974 F 40 and was made in Westerly Rhode Island. It has a really nice and silky Sitka Spruce top, solid Mapke sides...
