I had this one posted on eBay. I received a message from a very intelligent Guild expert ;) that the guitar didn't look like it had a factory finish. so I pulled the eBay add immediately. After sharing more photos with said expert ;) he came to the conclusion that indeed it was no longer a factory finish.

Notables:
  • a small chip in the neck binding on the treble side
  • minor buckle rash
  • small dents, dings and scratches throughout
  • non original hard shell gator case
  • no longer a factory finish
If interested DM, I have a lot of pics I can share.

$1.500 BO + shipping fees (worldwide)

Does the interior of the control cavity, perhaps under the shielding, confirm the refinish?

Good luck and than you for correcting your listing.

Does the wiring look original? If so I’d be willing to buy it, write it up, and give the original seller first dibs. I could even rush it to the (more or less) front of the queue to turn it around quickly.

Could work to get one written up and give the original seller some breathing room to get it back.

Well I think I offended the previous owner. He thought I was trying to pull a fast one on him. I'm better off just letting that whole thing go and not try to explain or defend myself. So its back on the market.

$1,500 + shipping

attached is a pic of the "guts", looks all original to me? But I am wrong more than I am right!!

On my '71 JS II the color on the rim of the cavity seems to match the finished body reasonably well. If I were trying to get a lower price because of a refin I might claim the color variations around the rim are evidence. More interesting is the shielding on mine covers the sides of the cavity. Was the shielding removed during a refin or is this just an example of cost cutting?

Damn. I’ve wanted a deluxe but the timing hasn’t worked out. I guess we’ll see her in pieces, soon 🙁
