I'm not sure I've evr shared this guitar with this group. It is a Westerly 1972 F 40 I bought some time ago. It needed work so off to Tom Jacobs it went. I've likely got more into this one than I'll ever recoup but that's o.k. because I have no plans or wish to sell it. It's a gorgeous guitar in my opinion and I love just about everything about it including the burst finishm the smaller size, the playability and the tone. It's a keeper. The pics may not be the greatest but will give you a general idea of what the guitar is all about.

Here's the work Tom did on this guitar:
-Neck Reset
-Make and install a new bridge
-Refret
-New bone nut, saddle and bridge pins
-Buff, polish and remount the PG
-Buffed the guitar out and set the action to my liking

I also have a 1974 F 40 Bld. I bought recently. It needs some work as well.. I don't need two of this model and I love my burst F 40 so I'm trying to decide if I want to sell this one as is or send it to Tom as well to get some work done. Decisions, decisions.

Seems to be the case. I also just bought from him a D25 (1969 I think) that was Eric's guitar. It Was just delivered but it's pretty cold here so I'll let it warm up overnight.

As far as Tom goes, I am just super pleased with his work and at this point in my life have no problem paying the additional $200+/- for round trip shipping to get it to/from him. He'll be my guy until he retires or until I die (likely the latter 1st).

What a beautiful guitar, Richard!! When I damaged one of my Guilds I was so glad to know of Tom Jacobs and the trip across the country was a small price to pay for my baby!! (y)

Just love those lighter bursts. A sunburst F-40 was my dream guitar in the late ‘70s, and I finally ordered one in 1979. If it had looked like yours, I would have been thrilled - but much to my disappointment, it arrived looking like this!.....
