this must be in Hans' book but has anyone ever seen or played a 1970's M-85-1 bass w single neck humbucker?? Sheryl Crow posted a video where she is playing one (and has a Bisonic M-85 bass on the wall)

Wow. Never seen one. Seems to me there were a couple of JS I's that had that cover (mute?) where the bridge pu would be. The hollow one is noted and one would have to expect that she is now well aware of the differences :)

Cool, I don't know that I've ever spotted one of those before. Only M85-I basses I recall were early hollow ones with the bisonic, but of course that doesn't mean there weren't a few solid bodies with the bucker

During my research I've seen a couple, but the single pickup model was no longer listed in the Nov. '73 price list, so that tells us something!

Sincerely,

thanks, Hans. that would certainly correlate w the 3 line Chesterfield and Hoboken TRC. looks like Ms. Crowe found a collector's example too. looks clean and complete
