I’ve decided it's time to sell some of the Guilds I’ve acquired over the years.

So first up is this 1961 CE-100 DP #15467 in very good condition.

Other than the usual light checking for a guitar of this age, the finish looks great.
The back has a small about 3/4” bit of finish scraped off in the center and an odd pressure rub mark (no indentation) under the finish that looks like it might have happened at the factory and discolored after the finish aged.
The only sign of “abuse” its that a previous owner engraved the name “George Cool” on the back of the headstock which will be shown in the photos.
The binding is in good shape…..most binding problems were pre 1960 from my experience.

The neck is a C shape with a nut width that measures 1 11/16”.
String spacing at the bridge is 2 1/8”
The Franz pickups, wiring harness and controls are original and working well.
Tuners, tailpiece and pickguard are original and unmodified.
The neck angle is good and the truss rod is working.
The string action is low at 5/64 bass side and 4/64 treble side without buzzing measured at the 12th fret E strings.
The original full height rosewood saddle is sitting almost all the way down at this string height. I have it mounted on a rather tall (easily trimmed down) single footed bridge rosewood base (from a 1961 CA-100).
The two Franz pickups sit with plenty of clearance under the strings…..and I have the pole pieces adjusted to suit the strings I use.
I have it strung with D’Addario EJ-21 nickel round wound Lights (12-52 wound third)
If you prefer to use 11’s I’m sure all would be fine.
Weight is 6 lbs 6 oz.

I’ve had this guitar since 2019 and all has remained stable with this set up.
I intended to play it and chose to have it refretted with a medium wire, rather than keeping the small original frets. They play well with little wear.

The case is not original. It’s a circa1962 Guild badged black “snake skin” textured case that is a perfect fit. Probably from another CE-100. No funky odors and latches, hinges and handle are fine.

I’m in CT USA and prefer a local pickup. I’ll show some price appreciation for anyone that chooses to make the drive to see and play this guitar.
Sounds wonderful through my ’69 Princeton Reverb, would love to have you hear it.

More photos and details are available to those with a serious interest.
Feel free to PM me with questions and details, and we can exchange contact info and have a conversation if you'd like.
Thanks!
