Hi all, thanks for this great resource! Have very swiftly fallen into the Guild bug since getting my first Hoboken-made hollowbody last year. Just here to share a new addition to the stable: 1960 T100, all original as far as I can tell, including the minuscule frets ;) No case, but an old Macari's (London) gig bag from where it was bought in the 90s by the previous owner. Franz PUs and an absolutely stunning deep blond finish.

What looked like playwear on the neck and body turned out to be grime on top of grime… decades of sweat/dust/god knows what. Was in a very sorry state when I collected :( (eBay purchase without trying first – bit of a risk!). Stinky gig bag and filthy, so lots of light rubbing out of grime/marks; now need to get it apart and clean up all of the metalwork and pots etc.

Compared to my '64 T100 with Bigsby it's really a different beast. Super light, super woody and resonant. Even with the totally inappropriate Ernie Ball Slinkies that it came with it sounds very ES175-era Jim Hall. Thumpy, big and woody. 1 5/8" nut but deeper U shaped neck than the slimmer, wider 64. Very comfortable, and the mahogany feels great under the hand (very little nitro left on the back of the neck).

Looking forward to new frets (sorry, any purists reading this, but it needs to be played!), some flatwounds and a good setup. The Franz sound pretty high output to me, so perhaps they are the higher-output versions as opposite to the lower ones for the more 'jazz' hollowbodies? Incredible thick bridge tones. Big fan. All hail Guild!

Nice way to make an entrance to the forum. Such a beautiful blonde! My Hoboken Guilds tended to have a lighter construction and deep resonance like yours. I once had a really clean '59 T-100D that also had super low frets, and I had it refretted without guilt. It sounded played incredible afterwards. I also like the patina of aging that yours has. Very nice!

Welcome and thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the warm welcome, chaps! I figured the blond is rarer. Definitely a light construction, like a 50s ES175 in feel (but less scarily light than an ES125!)

My 'daily driver' T100 is on a theatre show at the moment (pic attached) – that has Jescar 47104 on it, as per a Collings I had, and for my money it's really a perfect fit for the neck. 1 11/16" and less deep, so a different feel to its new sibling. ROCK solid construction on this one, the tuning never drifts, it's a class act.

For me thats a dream T-100 DP.....very happy for you.
I have a '60 T-100 CH (cherry red) with a single Franz that's always a pleasure to play.

I have a red one. The red doesnt seem common, in my experience.

Nice blonde! I just joined the forum and recently got a ‘63 T100B. I bought a ‘67 T100D new and sold it in 1971. I have some good Gibsons and other guitars, but wanted to get another T100 for years. This ‘63 is different than I remember my ‘67 - mainly the Franz pickup, which I like better than the ones on the ‘67. Also is a lot lighter with more acoustic projection than what I remember of my first one. I strung it with wound nickel 11s. I found my 50s Fender Pro to be the best amp of those amps I have for it. Looking forward to playing it on a gig this weekend - jazz trio with a singer. I’ve done a bit of adjustments with the setup but may take it to a pro to look at. At the very top few frets the fingerboard seems curved a bit so some notes up there buzz. Since I’m not usually playing on those highest frets, it’s not a big problem, but I wonder if there was some separation at the neck/body joint. It looks like the neck has been shimmed. Intonation is good. Action is decent, but could be adjusted to be more consistent over the whole neck. I’m enjoying getting to know it!
