I am selling my 1960 slim Jim.I bought it as a husk stripped of all hardware.I sourced original harp tailpiece,Waverly tuners, pickguard, knobs and fitted it with 2 1964 Gretsch filtertron pickups.I had a brass Compton Compensated bridge made for it to match fingerboards radius and maximize sustain.
It plays great with low action and good frets.Chesterfield headstock overlay is in very good shape and still firmly attached. These tend to delaminate and warp with age.Not here.Has the ghost label visible through bass side f-hole.Someone painted little swirls and paisleys in various places on top. They we're removed but left shallow impressions in the finish.Really only visible close up.The back has been refinished in clear coat at some point in it's long history.
Play it as is or restore with the original Franz pickups.A great American made guitar.

It would be great guitar for someone who appreciates Gretsch and Guild.Filtertrons are my favorite pickups.Of course Franz or P90s could be reinstalled easily. This guitar is very lightweight at 5-6 lbs.
