Binding is perfect except for the small piece on the neck heel. If seriously interested I have lots of pix. The original faux alligator case is also near mint. Possible trades for Gibson,Gretsch,Fender,Guild,Martin guitars of equal value. $4300 shipped

That's a beauty, and the binding is in better shape than my '59. Not sure those knobs are original though.

That type of knobs was used in 1959.
Those pickups and polepieces look so mint!
Ralf

Thanks for the correction Ralf. Most of the '59s that I've seen have either the Dakaware knobs, or the clear ones like my X175 has.

Those are the right style knobs. They were introduced in 1959. I don't know who it was that got introduced to knobs. Dolly Parton's future husband maybe? But seriously, Dakaware was probably on some 1959's.

However, these could possibly be the new reissues. I think reissues are also on Dolly.

Dakaware (now Davies Molding) made at least some of the stovetop knobs. They are still being made with screw inserts, although you can probably order a thousand part run and get 1/4" 24 spline push on knobs.

Hi, these knobs are original to the guitar. Nothing was changed on this beauty. I don’t think this piece was ever really played, or played very little.

The ones I'm thinking of Hans refers to as "stove knobs". They look something like this.
