HOLY CRAP! That guitar is hot! I hope to get the same thing one day. I love 50's X-175s in sunburst.

Goes to save pics to Guild porn folder.

hey folks, I thought I'd share some photos of my new Guild X-175 Manhattan. The serial # indicates 1956, but all the physical attributes (except the knobs) say it was built in '54 and kept in the shop for a while. It's got the longer 25-1/2" scale, 1-11/16" nut width, no neck binding, and a larger neck profile than the blonde '59 X-175 I had.

Hello valcotone,

Really nice one! That's the one that Jay Pilzer had for sale, right?

The only thing I was wondering about is the pickguard. It pretty much looks like the right material but I've never seen the pickguard coming that close to the toggle switch. Also the cutout for the treble pickup looks quite sloppy, so that gives me the impression that the pickguard is not the right one for that instrument. What do you think?

Sincerely,

Thanks very much for the info. 6105 is not a wire I have used before and I will be looking into it for the future.
All the best, Steve.

hi Hans, Thanks for replying. Yes, that's right I bought this from Jay.

Your comments on the pick guard is a good one, I hadn't noticed that before. You're probably right.
