We are hanging out with my wife's 2 best friends out in Hampton Bays on Long Island this weekend. I am bringing my 412 and plan to visit the local guitar shop and purchase a set of strings and then change them while the girls do their thing. I've always used D'Addario Phosphor Bronze lights. Maybe I will be adventurous and try something new!
daddarrio nickle bronze 11,s .. i have an f412 ,and they have that guitar singing .

If you like mello, see if Martin Retros have a 12 string set. Those strings mellow out more to me years vs the D'As of the same alloy.
i use martin retro monels ,on all my maple body guild 6 strings. ive used them on my 12 strings, and like them. But ,what my original post was about ,was asking if anyone had experience with the TI 12 string sets, and what their opinions were

I've used the Plectrum 12-string sets several times over the years - yes, expensive but beautifully made with colored cotton binding on the string ends - soft feel and warm tone - unlike others I think their life is too short, fantastic straight out of the box but I felt they quickly lose volume and sustain as they wear in.

I wish I played well enough to be particular about sound of the strings I use.
I tune to concert and I'm a shinny, weak, old guy so it's Earthwood Lights or D'Addario extra light (EJ41 I think). Both sound fine to me.

i dont like using strings that dont let me hear my guitars. Some strings ,thats what you hear. Thats my concern anytime i change string types

I wouldn’t spend $40 on a set of strings, I don’t care what the supposed benefits they’d be claiming, good ole D’addario or Martin strings work for me.

The F412 sounds nice in this video, not sure but probably the stock strings it came with:

just curious as to has used them, and what they thought. That was the point of the post. Imo, that 412 sounds weak ,tinny, compared to my f412 wuth daddario nb,s or martin retro monels

That does not sound nearly as good as my G37 6 string with AD PBs .010-.047s.. Could be the recording, though.

If you're looking for a warmer sounding 12-string set might I suggest GHS Silk & Bronze - unlike the soft feel of Plectrums these feel and play like normal PB's but have a warmer tone.

Yes, they definitely are warmer. To me they do feel just a bit easier on the fingers and wrist. But they feel much closer to PB or 80/20's than the Silk and Steel (which, as you said, feel closer to the TI Plectrums), in my experience as well.

I see that La Bella makes 12-string sets of their Silk & Steel strings too.

Light 10-51
Medium 12-56
Heavy 14-68

I've used their 6 string Silk & Steels and thought they were excellent - gave a lot of the TI Plectrum soft-feel, warm-tone experience without the high cost.
