Anyone just have 1 Guild acoustic they play?

My D-40E is my only Guild. I do have an Eastman E6D-TC and a Martin D-10E, neither of which gets much play time since I got the Guild, and I may part with one or both of them. I do need a backup, though, in case something goes sideways on a gig.

    Pickup for D40 BG-Jubilee

It's in my Eastman rather than my Guild, but my Mojotone NC-1 sound hole pickup sounds great - and doesn't require a permanent install, though you can also go that route - I did. Here's a demo, starting with me playing a solo, running through a Boss Acoustic Singer Live:

    Oxnard production numbers

If you defined it solely by that, Martin would qualify - which would be silly and why no one would define it that way. I consider current Guild to be at the very least borderline boutique, and ridiculously well priced for that. If you look at my other thread, I wouldn't trade my D-40E for any...

    Oxnard production numbers

I didn't figure Guild's numbers ever approached Martin's. I was more wondering where their numbers would land vs the "boutique" manufacturers.

    Oxnard production numbers

Thanks for that! Looking at that thread, it'd seem around 2,000 per year - so approximately 10% of Martin's output, and double Collings.

    Oxnard production numbers

I tried to search, but if it's been posted I didn't use the right search terms...anyone have any idea how many guitars Oxnard produces per year? I'm imagining it's a much smaller number than Martin or Taylor are turning out...just kinda curious where they stack up in terms of shop size.

My D-40E may just be magical...

There are 2 Pierre Bensusan models. One is indeed an F body. The other is The Old Lady, and it's an O. https://lowdenguitars.com/guitars/pierre-bensusan-old-lady/ There are pics of the original Old Lady on this page, including the cutaway...

My D-40E may just be magical...

The Old Lady is the model - it's the Pierre Bensusan signature. It's an O size.

My D-40E may just be magical...

Ended up with a couple hours in Nashville yesterday, so of course I took advantage and hit up Gruhn and Carter Vintage. Got to play some stuff I've never been able to play around the Cincinnati area, and quite enjoyed it. Gruhn has more Martins than I've ever seen in one place! Also, lots of...

OK, coming back and editing since I missed the request to answer in £UK. I'll go 700 £UK.

A visit to Willcutt = NGD and a return to Guild ownership :)

I can't believe how BIG this guitar sounds. Was just wailing away on her for a while, then picked up my Eastman E6D and it sounded downright compressed compared to the Guild!

Oxnard, 2017. The strings didn’t feel dead, but they may have been monels or something strange. It had absolutely zero resonance.

I spoke too soon, her name is Bonnie.

Just changed the strings to my preferred D'Addario EJ16s, and now I love her even more. Haven't found her name yet, though (yes, I'm one of those people who names their guitars).

I was shocked. It wasn’t just that it didn’t sound as good as the others, it sounded BAD. May have been strung weirdly, May have been somehow abused by the previous owner, not sure.
