    D-20 owners?

The new D-20 may be an American-built classic, but it comes with a bolt-on neck, not a traditional dovetail.

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

Update: My new luthier polished the scratches out, he corrected the truss-rod, glued a loosen brace, oiled the bridge and fretboard, with lots of love, care and profession. Now it‘s perfect! I love this Guild GAD-50E in Amber Burst soo much. The sound and quality is superior. For me it‘s the...

    WTB Guild GAD-30E Amber Burst

Thx. This would have been a good choice in all but the pretty damaged headstock. And for some reason it was sold within a few days. I‘m still on the search, but I prefer a nearly new condition, because this is needed for closeups in our documentary.

    WTB Guild GAD-30E Amber Burst

I love my M-120E and GAD-50E as much as my D-20E. All of them deliver a superb sound. My GAD-30, which I need for our documentary pilot, sadly was stolen in Praha this year. That's why I've been desperately looking for one in Amber Burst for a while now.

    WTB Guild GAD-30E Amber Burst

I'm still searching. Didn't find any GAD-30 with Amber Burst, neither on Ebay, nor on Reverb.

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

The truss-rod was too loose. This was part of the problem with the too high action and why I gave it to a luthier. The saddle is original and fitted perfectly before I let him work on my guitar. I don't want to mess around myself in that condition and will wait until the new Luthier has time...

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

Yeah, it’s getting cold here in Austria. We had the first snow last weekend. But we didn‘t start heating yet. I

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

Thanks for your comments and your empathy. I am just a little desperate because I do not want to believe that this is happening to me. I'm looking for flaws in my behavior, even questioning myself if a scratch was there before. He is not in my town, but about an hour away from where I live. I...

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

The luthier installed the Elixier strings. I didn’t change them. But I do have the same on my D-20E and GAD M-120E without any problems.

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

I had a lot of work in the last weeks, but today I finally had time to play my beloved guitar. Sadly, the sound is not what it was before. Not at all. It sounds lousy. It‘s completely tinny. As if the nut would be too low and the strings (new Elixir Acoustic Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze 12-53) have...

    Johnny Cash-"American lll-Solitary Man"

I love all six American Recordings CDs featuring JC. And the Highwaymen live, where Cash was playing a beautiful Guild D605BE.

We also have a saying here in Austria: It's the little things that make life worth living. And it's not just a couple of accidental scratches. The entire back is so rubbed off that you can't even speak of glossy varnish anymore in places. This reduces the value considerably. And he even damaged...

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

As I have already written, it was an unspeakable stroke of luck that I bought this guitar from far away, in the middle of the Apulian nowhere, where it stood in a guitar store almost 14 years originally packed in a storage room - although no one knows how it got there. This GAD-50E was...

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

I think I'm afraid that, as a guitar beginner, I won't be taken seriously with my concerns and quality demands. I often hear "What do you want with three guitars?" or "Why do you need such a good guitar?" I already know this from my restored Jeep CJ7. When I've been upset that the mechanic used...

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

Apparently, he also damaged the pins. At least the material is chipped, since he inserted them without regard to the guide groove. And there seems to be some liquid underneath the clear pickguard. I better don‘t look so closely.

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

I had a lot luck buying this guitar online from an music store in Anapulia, Italy. Nobody knows how it got there, but the guitar case was standing there for about 14 years in their store without ever being opened. So yes, even though the guitar has been out of production for ages, it was...

Guitar maker scratched my Guild GAD-50E

My fear is that it then gets worse, so the guitar gets even more scratches, if I give it to him again. It is apparently difficult in Austria to find a guitar workshop that takes good care of the guitars.
