How to get Guild GSR Information

I recently picked up a 2022 D40 Traditional GSR from Guitar Center and I would like to know what are the specs or features of the GSR. I tried to ask Guild in Oxnard about it via their web site but the contact page does not seem to be functioning. The guitar appears to be a standard production...

    1960s Antihum Pickups

I was just curious how consistent the sound of the antihum pickups was during the 1960s? Do the earliest ones sound about the same as the ones Guild was installing on guitars in 1970? Have people who own say, a 1964 Guild Electric with antihums found that it sounds very similiar to the same...

Sold 1975 Starfire II in excellent condition

For sale is a beautiful natural burst (mahogany) 1975 Starfire II in excellent condition. I've currently got it set up with flat wounds and a Compton bridge for clean thick jazzy tones and it sounds great. The guitar is super clean but it does have a few dings in it - please look at the photos...

    Discomfort (tendonitis?) in strumming forearm

I've been experiencing some discomfort/stiffness/pain in my strumming forearm. I think tendonitis. Almost certainly due to playing the guitar. Curious if anyone has any suggestions on treating this issue short of taking a break from playing? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Extra string buzz on '70 Starfire IV

Recently purchased a '70 Starfire IV that I love. It plays and sounds fantastic BUT I've got some extra buzzing sounds when I hit the strings, fretted or not so I think the Hagstrom Bridge is the culprit. Unfortunately I also pick up the buzz sound slightly through the amp. I had the guitar...

    NGD 1970 Starfire IV SB

I purchased this guitar a few weeks back, just getting around to posting now. The seller thought it was a '69 but I checked with Hans and he said it was a 1970. Must have been one of the last Starfires to get the antihums. Anyway, it's my first guitar with the antihum humbuckers (my '64 Starfire...

Has anyone ever made an acoustic with a hog top and rosewood back and sides?

This question crossed my mind yesterday when I was playing my '71 all hog flatback D25. I've never seen a guitar with a hog top and rosewood back and sides. Maybe they don't work together. Curious if anyone has ever seen/played such a guitar by any maker.

    NGD 1997 S-100

I purchased this almost month ago. Just getting around to posting now. I purchased on the GC web site so like always with them I wasn't sure what I would get. When the guitar arrived I was very pleasantly surprised. It was in almost mint condition, no marks, just a couple of almost imperceptible...

Seasonal neck adjustments on acoustic guitars?

I'm curious if the acoustic guitar players out there routinely adjust the necks (truss rods) on their acoustics in the fall and the spring as the weather changes and if so what kind of adjustments they usually make? Thanks in advance for sharing.

Break-in period for Oxnard D40 Traditional

About three months ago I purchased a minty 2018 D40 Traditional from Guitar Center. The guitar had been in the inventory of a music store that went out of business, sat in storage, and was later acquired by Guitar Center. The guitar was totally clean with the plastic still on the pickguard and...

    Looking for a new case for a 1970 F212

I need to purchase a new case for my 1970 F212. I have the original case but it has a nasty slightly pukey aroma that I can't get rid of. (tried various things, baking soda, adding scents nothing works) Can anyone advise me of a case size that would be a good fit for a 1970 F212? Thanks in...

    NGD 2010 F50 Standard

A couple of weeks ago @richardp69 and I agreed to a trade. My lovely 1980 D50 sunburst antique and some change would go to him in exchange for his minty 2010 F50 Standard. I had read some great reviews of the New Hartford F50 Standard by other LTGers, @twocorgis in particular and since the...

    Delayed NGD '71 D25BR

I bought this last fall but only recently got it back from Tom Jacobs. It needed some minor repairs and a refret and of course it got a fabulous setup by the master. I'm sure many of you have heard @Westerly Wood 's great recordings playing his D25BR and read his posts expressing his enthusiasm...

    NGD 1969 F212XL

Recently purchased this guitar off the GC site. It was listed a "fair condition" and no case and the price was low but in the photos the guitar looked pretty good so I decided to order it and check it out. I got very lucky. While it does have some cosmetic wear this is is a beautiful looking and...

    Sold 1980 D50 Sunburst Antique

For sale is my 1980 D50 Sunburst Antique in very good condition. This is a beautiful and great sounding guitar. I am sorry to let it go but my '71 D35 and '71 D40 have won the war for my affections so I don't play this guitar very much anymore. My tastes have definitely shifted to mahogany back...

    Pickguard on '71 S-100

I bought my '71 S-100 without a pickguard and initially I didn't miss it. I enjoyed seeing as much of the transparent cherry burst on the woodblock body as possible. At some point @hansmoust advised me that my guitar would originally have had a black pickguard. Recently @GGJaguar and @mavuser...

Neck Block crack appearing on '71 D35

My beloved '71 D35 appears to be developing a classic neck block crack in the top from the bass side edge of the neck down to the sound hole. Is there anything I can do to stop this from getting worse? Pics below. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
