Do You Remember Your First Pedal?

A fuzz face in '69, followed by a crybaby, was using a 63 strat through a 100 watt Marshall head and a 4x15 cab. All long gone sadly!

About to get into a Guild, Seeking advice

Martin Monels seem to really suit the D25m, mine is a 79. I find that the monels need playing in for a few days to bring out the tone, but as you say, fabulous!

Plastic covering on new pick guard?

I had thought of an oxy/acetylin torch, or maybe an angle grinder!

Plastic covering on new pick guard?

Thanks for that, I will give it a try. I suppose the moral of the tale is to take it off when you still can!

Plastic covering on new pick guard?

A few years ago I acquired a G & L Legacy which had spent 12 years in its case with the film on the pickguard, now it won't come off, fused completely to the guard! Tried heating with a hairdryer but doesn't work. Any ideas? Great guitar though!

NGD , but not a Guild!

Prices for used Guilds are getting ridiculous here, there was a Corona F30 on eBay for £2500 (3250 usd!) The M36 was the first I'd seen, very impressed so far, could be a keeper!

NGD , but not a Guild!

Been looking for a nice F30 to go with my D25 and F50, but very scarce here in the UK, anyway I played a brand new Martin M36 and was blown away, sweet sounding and great projection, but held off waiting for a Guild. After six weeks of unabashed lust, couldn't hold out any longer, so back to...

    Vintage D25's

Vintage Guilds are getting expensive here in the UK, there is a Corona D25 in white for £1599 (around two grand in dollars) and and a recentish F20 for £2500 (well north of three grand!) Don't see too many old Guilds for sale here, people must hang into them.

    Vintage D25's

Got my 79 D25 for 425 bucks at a swapmeet a couple of years ago. Lots of dings and scratches but no cracks or breaks, plenty of saddle left, oh and the original case! Plays and sounds wonderful!

    Have I been duped? D25M/D25 1974/1979?

Welcome to LTG, and to your D25. When I bought mine I was told it was a 76, but the serial number, DA100641 dates to 79. The label was missing and the neck block is stamped D25. There is no date stamped on the corner of the neck block like there is on my 82 F50. Guitar looks identical to yours...

    My D25 story

Got to agree,my old 79 D25M is my absolute favourite, sounds great, plays great, looks shabby! What could be finer. I already had a Martin, a Lowden, a Gibson and two Breedloves when I found my D25, probably wouldn't have bought them if I had bought the D25 first (well maybe would have bought...
