I recently bought this beautiful 1979 Starfire 4 Guitar. I was looking for a lighter hollowbody guitar to replace my heavier solid body guitar. Unfortunately, the Starfire at 10 pounds is just as heavy as my solid body guitar, which my back can’t handle anymore. So, I’m putting this one up for...
I’ve read several threads that talk about various pickups in Guild guitars (i.e., DeArmond, humbuckers, P6, Guild pickups), but I haven’t found mention of Duncan Benedetto B6 pickups. Has anyone tried them in your Guild guitars, and if so, what do you think? Thanks.
I received this 1971 Starfire bass today. A dark walnut finish over flame maple body. Nice condition for its age. The neck is beefier than my ‘67 Starfire, but still comfortable to play (looks like mahogany neck). I’m thinking of replacing the Guild humbuckers with Novak BS-DS pickups.
I would like to by an old Starfire bass in condition suitable for modify the electronics (i.e., showing wear is fine, but structurally sound). Please let me know if you have one you are willing to sell. Thanks.
If anyone is looking for an MB85, this might be a good deal, I have no affiliation, just thought it might be of interest.

I have a ‘67 Starfire bass. I unscrewed the pickup to look at the back to see how it’s wired just for curiosity sake. Turns out that at some point a Novak bisonic pickup was installed. it sounds great, but since it is already modified, should I continue with the modifications?
I have a...
You all know much more than I do about electronics. I would like to add a passive pickup (Benedetto A6) to a guitar with an active electronics circuit. Is it possible to add a passive pickup to an active circuit? Or are all pickups actually passive and the ones that require active circuitry...
Just wondering what you all think of the Guild B-301 bass. I have a couple of Starfire basses, which I love. How does the B-301 compare tone-wise? It has an interesting bridge/tailpiece, any thoughts or concerns about it’s functionality? What are it’s strong and weak points? Thanks in advance.

On my ‘67 Starfire bass, the tuners turn in reverse (counter clockwise for tightening and clockwise for loosening). They appear to be original and installed correctly. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this? Thanks.
Hi, I’m new here. I just had my Newark Street edition Guild Starfire modified by Alembic. I like the result, combining the Guild hollowbody sound with the Alembic sound. I also have a stock ‘67 Starfire that has not been modified, and I love that classic Starfire/Bisonic sound as well.
