    Guild D4 HR 1997

I overhauled a severely dehydrated and sorry looking D4 NT-HR a couple of years ago. I learned a lot. Mainly, that they're a fantastic sounding entry-level Guild. Those curved backs (like the one on my D-25) really adds a punch. You won't be sorry.

    F50R Custom John Denver

What a great first post. I love hearing stories that go with guitars. They're an extension of ourselves in some ways.

    My D25M

I think you're right Dread. Slight veer but are there other makers who made guitars with unbraced arched backs?

    My D25M

You love your D25 as much as I love mine, Dreadnut. I got mine out of it's case after a month of not playing it (which is a long time for me - I recently bought an Eastman E10SS I've been very much obsessed with) and was taken aback how much it rings! It is my one true "keeper". The others are...

    A tale of two Guilds

A great story and a beautiful guitar. I love it when these things go hand in hand.

    [NGD] Guild D70NT

Welcome to LTG! and what a fantastic looking guitar. We're all drooling over it. Looks like it was in time capsule since 1981. Wow! This is a great forum so check in often and soak up all the good vibes and info. Cheers!

3 things I am thankful for; how about you?

Having lost two friends this year... 1. My health (both physical and mental) 2. My wife and kids 3. My extended family who I haven't seen in over two years (live abroad, COVID, etc) The list could go on

    A Confession (Hoboken vs. Westerly)

Totally agree with you Dread. I've heard people be sniffy about this era with justification.

Love my D50 - it was my first Guild and first guitar of any real quality. Yours looks amazing - congrats!

Old School F-40 (not jumbo) Info Please?

Like the barrel. It was (relatively) chunky neck for sure.

Old School F-40 (not jumbo) Info Please?

I'm glad the subject of F-40s came up. A few months back a friend of mine (and fellow LTG'r) lent me his 1954 (?) F-40. It's the oldest Guild I've ever played. It took a while to open up after not being played for while but sounded great when it did. The thing I noticed was the size of the...

    12-string Acoustic Recommendations?

Thanks so much for this decoder. I've been curious/confused about 12 string numbers for YEARS.

Promise, last post for a while, I know I been kind of barraging last few days...

Sorry to hear that Westerly. A beautiful arrangement and a lovely way to say farewell. Good vibes to you.

    First Guild! Lots of questions

Welcome to LTG JLo618, others here have answered your questions with more authority than I but I also have a D-25M from 1981. It's a fabulous guitar, congratulations . Mine also came with it's original case and booklet (normally a sign it's been at least half cared for). Stick around on the...

    My D25 story

I was playing my D25M only last night and thought: this is probably the best sounding guitar I own. I put it down to the arched back. I absolutely love mine. Will never sell it.
