    Epi Hummingbird

Just received it - about 1/9 th the price of a Gibson but also used by the likes of Oasis and Frank Turner etc - very good build quality, still breaking in but so far tone is great - nothing on my D40 but it’s a solid guitar and built like a tank - weighs in at over 5lbs and tuners and pick...

    Keeping guitars at home

Howdy y’all - it’s been a hot minute and I’ve been a hot mess - I hope you are all well! I now have (less than some but more than I probably should) 6 guitars - I keep them out of cases in a rack or stand in a humidity controlled room that I keep attention on to ensure it’s ~45 humidity If...

    Would it be sacrilege….

The walnut is kinda selling it to me - I’m now just deciding if it’s a walnut bird or a J-45

    Would it be sacrilege….

I think it’s a relatively new development (the walnut) but it’s intriguing. My D40 has all the hog I need so looking for a different tone wood and it looks freaking beautiful (no tree nut allergy I promise!)

    Would it be sacrilege….

If I were to purchase a Gibson Hummingbird? I’ve joined a band and while I have 6 guitars already I’m really wanting a Hummingbird! Any one have one and any thoughts on them? The walnut back and sides are killing me!

    Can anyone help?

Luthier is booked thru the week but they seem confident in it. Used them for my 1920s parlor guitar and they did a great job - and they’re not scared by a double trussed 85 so I’ll be taking it in next week! Fingers crossed for an easy fix! It’s good to be back, I’ve been away for a while but...

    Can anyone help?

Thanks guys! I’ll take it to my regular if they’ll take it - not sure why, but many around here don’t like playing around with vintage 12s!

    Can anyone help?

the best I can describe it is that the neck itself is still straight but the feet board seems to be “sliding” every so slightly from low - high I may look like it’s not noticeable but I can feel it when I’m playing

    Can anyone help?

I’ve an ‘85 D212 which is awesome (it’s a tank!) I don’t know if it was always like this or I’ve just been using it more as I’m trying to record a couple songs with it - but I’ve noticed the top couple frets of the fret board have moved very slightly shifting from the bass E to the high E...

    A string post (again)

Okay, I know there are 1,000,000,000 string threads here so this is not one of them. I finally counted how many strings I need to change if I were to do my second most hated task (changing strings, my first is making up a bed with fresh linens). 41 strings (I have a 5 string banjo thanks to a...

    WTB WTB - Banjo

That’s older than any of my other instruments - has it been serviced? Im ok with a 70s banjo if it’s good shape - I look forward to the pictures. I’ve bought a couple guitar from folks on this site. Im not a time waster and appreciate you offering up your instrument !

    WTB WTB - Banjo

Looking to work on understanding a banjo. I’ve been here before- as some of you may know. I understand that a mandolin is a better next step from guitar, but for some reason I can’t get away from the banjo. Let me know if any of you have one you’re willing to part with - as I have done before...
