    Kim Thayil S-100 Coming

I just played one at my local store here in Austin. It is made in Korea, with gold hardware, the Soundgarden King Animal emblem on the truss rod cover, Kim Thayil's signature, and the Soundgarden circle logo on the back cavity plate.

    F 212 XL

I've had my F-212XL since new, 2012 or so, built in New Hartford. It is a big guitar, as large as the F-512, which, if I had the dough would love to have one of those in my possession. However, my F-212 is the only guitar I own that I would never sell. It's articulate, loud, and loves to be...

    Why are Guilds so cool?

    The definition of cool.

    Why are Guilds so cool?

Guild guitars are cool because Richie Havens played one.

Are you all acoustic, all the time?

I'm 45 now, started playing in 1992, and have always subscribed to the Neil Young approach. When you want to rock out, grab an electric (in my case, a hollow body Guild) and turn it up, and when you want to play nice introspective music, grab an acoustic and enjoy. Both are great!

Thinking About A White S-100 Polara

I came across the video of you playing your S-100 and comparing it to your SG, great video! That Guild sounds mean!

Thinking About A White S-100 Polara

I have played a reissue S-100 and I think they are fantastic for the money. In the past, I owned a Dearmond S-73, a really nice guitar, comparable to the Newark St. stuff. Personally, I was holding out, saving money for a 90's S-100 reissue, but I couldn't resist buying the '74 I just scored!

    New guitar day. DeArmond M75.

I have a black M-75 that I love. It's in the process of being turned into a Jr. style guitar with one humbucker in the bridge. The stock Goldtones are awesome, though I sold mine to help fund an S-100 purchase! I've owned it for about 3 years and paid $300 from Guitar Center, with a hard case...

    DeArmond S73 X3

I used to have a green one, but it was almost black, only showing the gorgeous green color in bright light. I regret selling it, for sure!

Is the current Guild HB-1 pickups sound anything like the originals?

They are nice, but not as nice as the HB-1.

    NGD: Green S-100

Man, that is a sweet guitar! I used to have a DeArmond S-73 that looked similar, though nowhere near as cool as that. Nice!

Starfire III what to expect tone and playability, weight, etc vs other models, vintage only.

The 90s Starfire that I have has an excellent neck. It's thin and narrow, which I love. It's a Starfire II with a Bigsby and it stays in tune very well, more so when strung with 10s than 11s.

    New Starfire Day

I love those 70s Starfires. The necks are super fast on the ones I've played.

My First American: Westerly Starfire III

Great guitar! My looks very similar, a ‘97 Starfire II with a Bigsby. Those Westerly Guild electrics are really nice.

Hi all! I’m a newbie here at LTG, introducing myself. I have gravitated towards Guild since I first saw Richie Haven’s Woodstock performance on video when I was 15. I own or have owned a few, and the build quality has always impressed. I purchased a blonde 1997 Starfire II this past November...
