    NGD 1996 JF65-12

Must be a good time of the year to buy a JF65-12!! Got mine also last week. Serial number JF 650104, so made in 1988, I guess. Previous owner bought it used in 1995 at Guitar Center, Hollywood, and had a Martin Thinline 332 Pickup installed. Original case. Guitar is in good condition for its...

For $5K US which one(s) wouldn't you sell, if any?

I agree with Dave. It took me years here in Germany to get the Guilds I own. Maybe one fine day I will part with one, but only because I do not like it anymore and not because I want to cash in. I have never seen my guitars as investments but merely as instruments made to be played and to...

    GUILD D-15m

Hi Palani, I own a 1992 D-15 M and although I have quite a few Guilds in my collection, it is one of my favorite Guilds. I love the archback Guilds, and the D-15 is a fine example. They are quite rare to find, especially here in Germany, where die Guild market is much smaller than in die US...

Performers: How does your spouse/SO feel about your playing?

My wife could not be more supportive. She likes my playing and singing, even bought me a guitar a few years ago. If I buy a guitar, I pay for it my own money, not out of our joint funds. So, no discussions like "Is this really necessary?" (Of course it is). And when I go " Now my collection is...

NGD 2007 Tacoma D-40 Bluegrass Jubilee

A D-40 was missing in my Guild collection up to now. After considering Westerly and Hoboken (both not too often up for sale here in Germany ) I found this sunburst Tacoma. And after reading many very positive reviews here on LTG and elsewhere I bought it. Its Adirondack top and bracing, awesome...

Anyone just have 1 Guild acoustic they play?

I have quite a few Guilds and I play them alternating. If I had to choose three to which I come back the most it would be the F 30 R SB, the D 15 and the D 40

    A50 & A25 Guild Concert Series

I have an A 50. I would not sell it, but is not my favorite Guild. For my taste, it sounds better when it is amplified

Guild 1953-2023 - 70th Anniversay!! Your wishes please!

As Hans wrote in his book, the Guild company was registered in 1952, but was introduced to the market only in April 1953 as a new corporation (Guild book, p. 10). So 2023 marks the 70th anniversary of our beloved guitar maker. Happy birthday! What would YOU wish for for this occasion? What new...

    What Band Blew Your Mind?

The Who Live at Leeds. I was 14 and on a night train to the North Sea. A class mate had a cassette recorder with him (we are talking 1972!). It changed my life musically. Greetings from Germany

    Glenn Jones-Vade Mecum

I have ordered it and am very much looking forward to listen to it once it hits Germany. I own a few of his CDs und all of them are great. But I so also like the that he keeps promoting the American Primitive Guitar ( a silly name, though) school of acoustic guitar playing. His compilation The...

Let's see your stools. Here's mine and why I hate it.

Here's mine, a bar stool (multi purpose!) Fell in love with it in Vienna without being able to check it out with a guitar. Turned out to be a very good buy. Can't beat the tractor seat, though.

    Who’s Drunk the Archback Kool-aid?

Come to think of it, I have quite a few archbacks, and they are all great guitars, definitely keepers: F15, F 20, D15, D25, D30, F 65 CE. When I compare the D15 with the D25, I prefer the D15, though I am aware that their top woods are different - spruce vs hog - and in a way you compare...

    D15 vs D25M ?

I have both the D15 and the D 25 with the stained spruce top ( plus the F15). I have a slight preference for the D 15 but I can't tell you why this is so. Both are great guitars and I gruess it's the archback that makes them so special. This also holds true for the F 15.
