Has the price of low end Guilds gone up recently?

I agree with Curlington that it is always best to meet with or talk to the seller first. You can usually get a good sense as to how the guitar was cared for. As he said that usually results in a good transaction for both. Learning about unexplained things sometimes only comes out through...

Has the price of low end Guilds gone up recently?

Oh, the deals are still out there, but are fewer and farther between than pre-Covid. The web and FB forums are still the best place as members often price things fairly for other members, and there is no forced sales tax. However, the proliferation of “flippers” on the boards doesn’t help...

    FS Guild G75 3/4 Dread Sunburst 1977

Don’t let its small size fool you. This model projects very well with a big, rich sound for a small comfortable guitar. And the rosewood used for these is unbelievably nice.

    NGD - Almost

Ahhh, that’s heartbreaking to see that happen to such a rare guitar. How disappointing. I hope it doesn’t end up getting junked.

Does’t get any better. The interaction between these guys just blows my mind. I know what I’ll be listening to tonight.

    Got myself banned again

I’m just grateful that the mods here will often take the time to explain the undesired behavior before simply auto-banning. I’ve unintentionally said some things, as we sometimes do, that I later learned was frowned upon. Maybe its just harder to provide that kind of attention with a larger...

    Dickey Betts dies at 80

Noooooo! Not Dickey too. ABB are perhaps my all time favorite band from the 70’s. Fillmore East is one of the greatest live performances ever recorded. Blue Sky is my #1 desert island song with its impeccable phrasing and IMHO two of the most perfect Les Paul tones my ears have ever heard...

    Al Di Meola

Just re-listening to this interview he tells the same RTF story but says it was 2-3 days rehearsal before Carnegie Hall. So either i misheard him at the concert or he got mixed up on the timeframe. I do recall when I saw the RTF reuinion a few years back that he and others were reading from...

About to pull the trigger on this, just wondering what to look out for

Read this reference on the relationship between action height, bridge/saddle height, and neck angle. http://www.frets.com/FretsPages/Musician/Guitar/Setup/NeckAngle/neckangle.html With older guitars it is not uncommon that some will need a neck reset, which can run $500-1000 depending on what...

    When you find "The One"

My wife finally gave up with that saying when my standard response became “Very true, and you can only wear one pair of shoes, earrings or necklaces at a time.”

    Awe inspiring Ted Greene

Incredible. Simply mesmerizing how he weaves the melody into the chords so beautifully. I could listen to him all day.
