Or do this!! The Korean Guilds I’ve played are quite good! 👍

    91 starfire and bigsby

You’d have to find an old American guildsby. The new ones are metric and my understanding is the vibramate kits are only imperial spacing. If it were me, I’d look into a Göldo or Duesenberg unit with a conversion plate. More like a Bigsby B5, but it’s an amazing piece of kit!!

    Help From The “More Tenured”

I was able to plug in over the weekend with a friend who has an excellent home set up. Holy. Smokes!! Acoustically it’s very bright. Somewhat thin. But plugged in, that guitar comes alive! Everything “missing” is added by the pickups. Very dynamic, articulate, full and clear! The difference is...

    Help From The “More Tenured”

Thankfully I’ve had a lot of great fortune purchasing used. The strat was used, and so are most of my guitars. Looking for used parts is a good idea. Also! Thanks for the reminder that this whole thing is a journey. For learning and enjoying along the way. And not the “end goal.” 🙂

    Help From The “More Tenured”

I had a new set on standby (elixir PB, 12’s), so I put those on. It definitely made a difference. Same strings as before, just a new set. Not sure by how much different, but certainly fresher. Enough to make me do some research into strings and string types and see if there’s one that can maybe...

    Help From The “More Tenured”

Holy smokes!!! I haven’t looked them up in some time. I can tell you this, that’s not what I paid for it back then. They’re well out of my price range now. Which makes things more complicated. Because to repurchase someday (if ever desired) would be much more complicated than just “working all...

    Help From The “More Tenured”

I play a lot at church, mostly electric. However, recently I’ve been helping with the youth students and plug in each week. The sound set up isn’t the best so I can only hear my acoustic sounds, and none of the plugged in sounds.

    Help From The “More Tenured”

That’s very sweet! And kind of her to be so understanding. That’s a win any way you slice it.

    Help From The “More Tenured”

Wow!! Lots of great responses and stories in here. Thank you everyone! The guitar is a Cole Clark Fat Lady 2 from 2009. It’s a dreadnaught shape with they’re made in Australia using only indigenous woods. This one is a Bunya Top, with Blackwood back and sides. A maple neck with rosewood...

    Help From The “More Tenured”

Thankfully finances are okay. Right now to buy one I have to sell one. But I don’t have to sell one for food, mortgage payment, etc. and I don’t HAVE to buy one at all.

    Help From The “More Tenured”

From what I can tell, most of the people here seem to be older than me. And some of y’all have been playing guitar longer than I’ve been alive (I’m 30), which I’m somewhat counting on that for the question: What do you do when you have a guitar (or any instrument I suppose) that you are...

Two options to do that without damaging the guitars value would be a duesenberg Les trem. It goes on the studs for the stop tail. Amazing piece of kit. I’ve put one on a Les Paul and it’s pretty astonishing. My only grip is that the space behind the bridge can get a little cluttered. Other...

Mono M80 Dual Electric Gig Bag

Gotcha. That makes sense. I totally understand. I was in the same boat until I saw some big name professionals use them. Some of those guys will even check the guitars under the plane in these bags. Which is wild to me!! Thankfully I’m just driving across town. :)

Mono M80 Dual Electric Gig Bag

By "that bag" do you mean Reunion Blues? Or just a gig bag in general? Do you have any hands on experience with them?

Mono M80 Dual Electric Gig Bag

So….It’s been a minute. I am reporting back on some things. The Mono Semi Hollow Bag is definitely the best bet. I went ahead and ordered one, everything fits. I even found some foam squares so I could cut out the shape of a solid body to “convert” it into a dual electric bag. If the Starfire...

Mono M80 Dual Electric Gig Bag

So what I am thinking about doing is getting the dual semi hollow bag. It has one side for a SFV/335 size and the other side for a more standard electric size (like a strat or something). I am thinking I could get some packing foam blocks and cut out an insert for my LP to fit in the semi hollow...

Mono M80 Dual Electric Gig Bag

Tried again today and was able to get the zippers fully closed but there is quite a bit of strain, so it definitely doesn't fit. I've been scheming up a possible alternative so the Mono will be going back. It's a nice case!! I think it's more rigid than the RB. But I do have concerns about the...

Mono M80 Dual Electric Gig Bag

Alrighty! So... I went ahead and bit the bullet. I bought the Mono bag the same day I posted this. It was delayed in arrival due to storms and such but arrived today. It's a nice bag, I like it. My Starfire V can fit inside the compartment with a bit of stretching. HOWEVER the stretching that...

Mono M80 Dual Electric Gig Bag

Hello hello!! Quick question - Does anyone have any experience with the Mono M80 Dual electric soft case? I am trying to find out if my NS Starfire V (Guildsby equipped) can squeeze in. Long explanation: I am finding myself in a bit of a pickle. I have 3 "main" guitars that are in constant...

    Capo’d Note Choke

I wanted to make sure that the thread was at least concluded or settled should someone come upon it later. And for everyone saying to look for differences between the guitars (fret board radius, set up, etc) I think the differences could come down to fret size.
