Is my D-50's pickup original equipment?

I just bought a '92 D-50. I like it. My one question is about how original it is. it has a volume knob and an endpin socket for the pickup. Could that have been installed as original equipment the factory? I don't mind if it was put in later, but I might decide not to add a neck-heel strap...

    This just in:

A '92 D-50. What a sweetie! Even my wife loves it. And she's tough.

    And now — what about a '92 D-50?

The seventies D-50 I posted about last week was wild geese. Too many red flags. So now I'm looking at a '92. Been emailing back and forth with the seller, and he seems legitimate. He's asking $2,150 shipped for a good-condition guitar. The fretboard is a bit divotted down at the cowboy chords...

    Questions about a D-50

Hello, intrepid Guild gurus! I love my '76 D-35, but pub gig money has been adding up lately, and I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to also have a rosewood Guild in my guitarsenal. There's an early nineties Westerly-made D-50 I'm considering. Questions: - Is it union-made? - Is it as well-build...

    Questions a bout a '77 D-50

I found a '77 D-50 for sale, very good condition, and I'm interested. Two questions: - How much will it sound like my '76 D-35? (If it's real close, I won't bother.) - How reasonable is the $1,800 asking price? (I love haggling, but only when it makes sense.) Thanks!

FS My new CD: Dreadnot: "Good Ol' Days"

Just in: my new CD, "Good Ol' Days." You can preview it here. All tracks are me, courtesy of the miracle of multi-tracking. My pen name is Leon Fullerton. The instruments: a '76 Guild D-35, a '71 a Martin D-28, blues harps, a cheap Fender mandolin, a cheap squareneck dobro, a little Casio...

PA gear: What brands do you like? Dislike? Why?

Sold my PA during lockdown. Now I'd like to assemble a smaller, simpler rig: just a four-XLR mixer, a 10" powered speaker, and a strand. What brands do you like? Which would you avoid? For example, if you're familiar with their gear, what do you think of Allen & Heath, Alto, Beringer, Bose...

    Basic Facebook questions

I finally broke down and created a Facebook page for one of my duos: www.facebook.com/catfishbrown. 1. What does "Pin post" mean? What happens if I click on it? 2. When I'm in Edit mode, how do I switch out of it to see the actual page? Thanks!

    Chrissie playing a Guild

We were talking about Dusty Springfield in another thread, which led me to look up "Angel of the Morning" on YouTube, which led me to this Guild sighting. It's a little weird because (a) it's Friends and (b) it makes it sound like Chrissie wrote it. Nice job, though!

Your personal British Invasion top-ten countdown

In the sixties and seventies, English rockers, bluesers, and folkies took the US by storm. Of those mostly bygone acts, which are your top ten today? Mine: 10. Beatles 9. Pentangle 8. Traffic 7. Who 6. Mad Dogs and Englishmen 5. Stones 4. Fairport Convention 3. Long John Baldry 2. Cream 1...

    Tried a '90's D-4.

I played a Westerly, RI, D-4 NT today at a shop that's asking about $850 for it. Arched back, exteme bear claw top. Heavy play wear, but the action, playablity, and sound are all great. Not that I'm shopping for another guitar now, but what do you know about D-4's? I'd never heard of 'em.

What's a good substitute for pink insulation?

I just put a bunch of pink insulation in our rafters, but I need another four square feet to finish the job. I don't want to buy a whole lot of the stuff for just a small area. My best ideas are a stack of corugated wrapped in a Hefty bag or wadded-up newspaper wrapped in a Hefty. What would...

Stagewear: Is it too much to ask?

Opinions, please! Played a wedding yesterday. Had a great time. But one things really bugs me about my new band. They always dress like they're about to mow the lawn. How weird am I for wanting to look good for an audience? The keyboardist actually tries to be presentable. The other two don't...

    How do I unwatch threads?

Lately I've been getting lots of emails from LTG directing me to threads here. How do I get LTG to stop sending them to me? Thanks!
