    NGD non-Guild content

Back when they first came out in 2013, I had Music Villa in Bozeman keep an eye out for me for a new Gibson J-15 burst. Just as one came in, a New Hartford F50R popped up on reverb which I ended up getting for a great price. I put the J-15 behind me.... until now. A guy over on AGF had one...

    Darts

I used to be big into darts. Steel tips, of course. I was on teams that played in league play -- our local bar would play against neighboring bars. All organized by the Southern California Dart Association. With practice, I got pretty good. I won a local tournament or two. I've hit three...

    John Denver book

So I'm down at the little Clark Fork library getting a new book to read. They have a box out front with several books in it. Says everything in the box is free. I glance through it. Jeez, there is John Denver's book Take Me Home, An Autobiography. I don't know what the heck that blue guitar...

    FS Guild GAD D125-12

Well, it looks like I bought another guitar, so I've got to sell two in this case. I'll put the other one in a separate post. This is for a very nice all-solid-mahogany 2011 Guild GAD D125-12 12-string. Strictly acoustic. It has had a recent setup and new strings, and it plays nice and easy...

    NGD - F412

My offer was accepted for this Tacoma, Washington built F412 and I promptly paid for it last Friday. I got a tracking number and kept checking it, and it kept saying "invalid number." By this point it was the weekend, so I figured the guitar wouldn't even start to be shipped till Monday...

    HTML help!

This is driving me BONKERS. I've written html for simple webpages before. The pages WORK, i.e., they render in a browser (well, after I load them into a commercial host). So I viewed the page source of one of those pages and then 'selected all' and copied the entire source code. Then...

    Visiting Elk....

Here's some security cam footage of one of those elks that have been visiting our place lately. Mrs. Cougar says she looks pregnant....

    Restringing a 12-string

So I finally got around to restringing my new F212XL.... What a nightmare! Just to begin with, removing the strings, I'm using the "Taylor technique," loosen all the strings so you can remove the bridge pins, then just take out the ends from the bridge, OK, no problem. Now just unwind the...

I don't FB or AGT, but....

So I got a shell account on facebook, mainly to see stuff on marketplace... And I never watch "America's Got Talent," but... my brother recommended I check out this girl, so.... That was a WOW!

    Buying a Domain Name

Mrs. Cougar is considering starting a small business and wants a website with her own domain name. I've looked into this a little, and there are lots of places that will sell you a domain name (after checking availability). My question is, once you purchase a domain name, how does that become...

    NGD New Hartford F-212XL

I picked up this beauty this morning. It is indeed in mint condition. Very fine silkiness in the natural top, nicely figured hog back. Sounds like a jumbo Guild 12-string should -- big and bold! This ought to keep me GASless for some time! My photography skills seem to have gone downhill!

    Sold 2018 Gibson Songwriter 12-string

** SOLD ** Up for sale is my mint condition 2018 orange label Gibson rosewood burst limited edition Songwriter 12-string. I've got it up on reverb for $2600, $100 off for LTGers. When I say mint condition, there's not much else to say. Comes with excellent condition Gibson case.

    NGD - non-Guild content

Been quite a while since I've made a serious acquisition. But I'd had my eye on this model for, well, years, never real serious about getting one, but let's say it was on the dream list. So this baby just arrived. 2006 Gibson J-165, mint condition, perfect sunburst, ebony fretboard, abalone...

    Connie Converse

Interesting story in the New York Times this morning: "Before Dylan, There Was Connie Converse. Then She Vanished." The article didn't include any of her lyrics, but they were easy to find. Here are some of her lyrics. Interesting stuff for pre-1960s songwriting in Manhattan.... Here's...

    K&K for 12-string needs pre-amp....

And I know darn little about pre-amps, pedals, DI boxes, and, well, lots of other stuff, too. 😬 But the K&K I had installed in my F512 just sounded pretty awful when just plugged into an amp. I'm not even sure what "quack" is, but regardless of settings on my amp, the output was just super...

Video clips taken at concert on Youtube?

I just got back from Vegas. Mrs. Cougar and I were just there for a couple nights to take in the John Legend concert (and some fine dining), so we didn't really have time to hook up with Tom. I wasn't a huge fan like Mrs. Cougar, but OMG, the concert made a fan out of me. It was freaking...

The GAD D125-12 - back from getting a setup

I told my local luthier to set it low. He did a great job. Super easy to play. With new strings, sounding full and rich... and loud when pushed. I'm liking this little dread. :p

    I bought a guitar

Yeah, it finally arrived. I had a few bucks that were burning a hole in my pocket, so I dropped a few of them on a new-to-me guitar. And I mean just a few -- I didn't want to blow a bunch of dough since I've really already got my dream guitars. Don't really need another one, but you know how...

    I hate FedEx

So I ordered a, uh, package (which will remain mysterious :p) that shows a "label was created" two Fridays ago, on July 22. Then the package was "received" by Fedex last Monday, July 25, in a city in Pennsylvania. OK, could take some days to get here from there via ground. Tracking shows it...
