    You said it would happen; I have my second Guild guitar (with pics)

    D4s are great guitars. At that price point, you won't worry (too much) grabbing it to for a backyard barbecue or campground, and you'll certainly garner admirers (especially other guitarists) who will be drawn to it. I had one for a few years but never took to the dreadnaught shape...

    NGD 2012 F50 Maple

    Congrats! I have a 2011 and it's certainly the nicest guitar I've owned.

    Is acoustic guitar an old man's instrument today?

    Interesting comments on the commitment level to take up guitar now compared to 40+ years ago. I definitely see the point. Anyone can make music with loops and virtual instruments on their phones these days. (I can attest it's a lot of fun and helps kill time on long plane trips.) And recording...

    What is it that draws you to Guild guitars?

    I prefer to "buy American" whenever possible, but I also gravitate to quirky, lesser-known brands, too. I'm a Rickenbacker guy more than being a Fender or Gibson guy. About 10 years ago, I started GASsing for a Gibson SJ-200 maple jumbo but was put off by the price. Research revealed the Guild...

    Bluesbird serial number

    For Corona-made Bluesbirds, is there a clear demarcation established between 2001-2002 serial numbers? Mine is CM000085 and is early enough in the transition that it has a Fender Custom Shop sticker on the headstock. It's a wonderful guitar and is my go-to rocker.

    NGD Finally after all these years. 65 Starfire III

    Holy cow, that's beautiful! Love the deep mahogany grain. That era, that finish, and that condition make that a definite "wish list" guitar for me. Congrats!

    That looks and, from your description, sounds awesome, Richard! Looking at small bodies myself, I'd been focusing on short scale necks, but definitely need to reconsider that after seeing this beauty. Love the full gloss finish, too. I'm not a fan of the satin/matte finishes that are so popular...

    Sold 1998 Guild D4-NT-HR, $475, VG++

    The D4 ended up selling on Reverb at $525, so I made a bit of a premium, and the buyer is getting an excellent bang-for-the-buck guitar at a still reasonable price. All's well that ends well, and I thank everyone here (and the LTG site in general) for your feedback and comments. Off to change...

    Date for Westerly X170-T?

    Yes, they are great! I love my Mars Music special run model seen in my avatar. I've always assumed it was from 2001 with serial #AK171407, but I welcome the confirmation or correction if anyone knows otherwise.

    Sold 1998 Guild D4-NT-HR, $475, VG++

    Realized with the Guild aficionado-base here on LTG that this might not be the right place to hawk an entry level D4. Many of you have much nicer specimens though I will say the D4 makes a fantastic spare camping/picnic guitar. I've posted the listing to Reverb (at the obligatory higher price so...

    Sold 1998 Guild D4-NT-HR, $475, VG++

    As the title suggests, I have a really nice D4-NT-HR"True American" that would be considered in excellent condition if not for a couple of slight marks on the bass-side neck (zoom in on pic along the fretboard at frets 3, 5, and 7). As such, it's still in Very Good++ condition, in my opinion...

    Sold For Sale - Guild USA X-170 - Blonde - Mid '90s

    Does anyone know if the gold-tone frets were original and how long were spec'd that way? My Mars 170-T has gold hardware and Guildsby but it has nickel frets you typically see on most electrics. If original, did other models come with gold frets? Very striking in any case.

    Hygrometers

    I've been using Govee bluetooth hygrometers for a couple of years now (approx. $15 each). One in the case of my F50 with Boveda humidifier packs, and another in my main room where I rotate guitars displayed on three wall hangers. It's great having the phone app to monitor the differences between...

    First Post: I’ve spent money, now what? (Starfire VI)

    Welcome! Great looking guitar. I've been a Vox guy since the 70's when I schlepped around a monster Thomas Organ solid-state Super Beatle (with 4x12 cabinet and chrome trolley) to gigs 3x a week when I was in college. Ah, to be so young and strong again! I scaled down to an AD60VTX Valvetronix...

    Wicked Deals On USA Guilds On Tundra

    Thanks for the callout on this one...I've been tracking F20/M20/M25e/M40 combinations for a couple of months and realized only now that my Reverb filters were US-only so have been missing good opportunities out of Canada.

    American made Guild Starfire IV - This guitar can be mine !

    I've never had a green guitar. Didn't think I'd ever want one. Now I do. That looks wonderful. Good luck with the transaction and looking forward to the NGD follow-up.

    NGD Corona Bluesbird

    It was a combination of things: Visually, I really like the Guild quilting. Sonically, those Guild SD humbuckers are more expressive with better range than the '57 classic neck/Burstbucker 3 combo on the LP. The Guild is slightly lighter, so there's that, and the neck feel on the Guild just...
