Thanks folks. Detailed it up last night and put on a set of Curt Mangan coated 12-54 phosphor bronze strings - first time I've used them. *Very* bright and metallic when first installed, but by this a.m. they settled down a great deal.

Well, I believe I just made an excellent deal on a Tacoma d55 burst, as I loved the "balanced, rich smoothness". of my previous Tacoma-built D55 that I should not have sold. We'll see how it looks and sounds upon arrival -- hope to receive it mid-next week.

Other than being more recently built, should a New Hartford D55 be priced higher than a Tacoma D55? Is the New Hartford model a "better" guitar? If so, why? I must admit I still like the burst color scheme of the Tacoma model

Thanks, Chris. I am very pleased the '72 is in the hands of a fellow LTG'er. I'm still kicking myself over letting the Westerly D55 burst that I had get away -- but it needed a complete fret job, and I wasn't willing to pay the asking price plus the fret work.
