    Info on 1980 Guild F-20NT

Hi, I don't know if the one I'd had was similar, but it was stamped both on the side of the neckblock, as well as underneath the top, 1981. Mine was the same sunburst I have seen on other models from that time, namely - the D25. Mine was long scale, had an arched back & was 1 1 11/16 " nut...

    Guild default strings

Might want to make sure to have a set-up done, if going up a gauge (at least, that's what I would do).

    Vintage Guild For The Win…AGAIN

Aged wood, especially that which you know (so-well)... is really hard/as in, "tough" to beat! ;)

    Cedar-topped DV6 on Reverb

Good luck with it! If it is anything like the two that I owned (which were not cedar topped)--then you will be very happy, as mine contained a special kind of magic, or alchemy maybe, that others have not. :) Peace~

    My acoustic 6 string.

I think that, sometimes too, as I understand it--they can get that way from having been stored in their cases with the strap touching the surface.

    Gabriella Quevedo

(Anybody know what model that is she's playing that's the older Taylor? Cedar Grand Concert, maybe?)... H'mm! ;)

    Case for a F-240E

Yes, I would be worried too, and that's usually what I do. But I don't believe if you live in a dry area then I always keep them in their cases and humidified. And I don't believe gig bags to be sufficient at sealing things off. Perhaps you could put a large garbage bag around it? Though I don't...

D4 vs Dv4 bracing and tone

I have played 3 DV-6's from Westerly, R. I. (all mid '90s). Two of which I'd owned, fantastic & of the HG (or high gloss - finish) variety... the other, a satin finished version: for whatever reason, in the store at a major market (reputable shop) on that given day, sounded dull and as in...

D4 vs Dv4 bracing and tone

Oh, I did not know that the D-26, came w/different bracing! Thanks... :)

D4 vs Dv4 bracing and tone

Also, these may not be the first words that come to mind, when thinking back on any of my D-4's. However, I realize that this is somewhat, "highly subjective!" ;)

D4 vs Dv4 bracing and tone

Another thing worth maybe keeping in mind, or considering, is apart from them being from two different makers, that the body sizes themselves may be different as well. I'm not super well-versed in Taylor's & their terminology, but is that something more of the Grand Auditorium, variety (as...

D4 vs Dv4 bracing and tone

Oh, they're insane... as in, "out of this world" good! (if that's your thing, that is) :^)

D4 vs Dv4 bracing and tone

I would concur. Even if, you found, in theory... two identical examples (which is nearly impossible to do, in my opinion) ~ then when taking into account the difference in backs only (neglecting for now the sake of difference in bracing; which is no slouch, or insignificant, as well!) . . . then...

D4 vs Dv4 bracing and tone

I can only say that I have owned two examples of the DV-6, from the mid '90s. Both of which were stellar examples of everything I would ever want out of a guitar. Even though the D-4/or more specifically, D-25 is my favorite all-time model by Guild ("Probably?..;)")~* I, in fact, had both a D-4...

Help with potential keyboard/digital piano (Roland) purchase

Welp? Inexpensive keyboard she had hand selected arrived last night & she's already sent me 3 voice recording clips. Sounds like a kid in a candy store as she'd added commentary to prep each one... "I haven't played this since the '90s, etc." Her joy was ...well, I didn't think quite capable for...

    Help From The “More Tenured”

I am in the sentimental camp as well, but it really depends on you, and where you place your value. If you view them more as tools, and don't grow that attached, then that is one way to proceed: discard, and move on. Replace, etc. As someone who has sold a lot of guitars, the ones I regret the...
