    Recommendations for a cutaway

I'm on a quest, looking for a Guild cutaway acoustic. I'm an old rock guitarist looking for something to strum on my couch, I play mostly blues, old rock, a little jazz & bosa nova, so I'm not a finger picker. I currently have an old Taylor 314ce - nice guitar, but doesn't float my boat - too...

    nylon saddle on Bluesbird?

I have a 2000 Bluesbird, it's a great guitar. One issue that bugs me however is that the G string always sounds harsher and brighter than the rest of the strings, especially on open string chords. Joe Bonamassa mentions using nylon saddles on his 3 unwound stings. anyone tried this on a Bluesbird?

    OM-140ce or others?

I'm looking for an OM type guitar as my every day, plunking on the couch guitar - something in the $500-$600 range. I live in a rural area, so it's hard to do a test drive, so I'm depending on internet research. So far, these 3 seem to float my boat - Guild OM-140CE, PRS Angelus se, and...

    open back tuning machines?

In going through some of my dad's old guitar parts, I came across 4 Guild open back tuning machines. They are heavy chrome and are in very nice shape, at least 40 years old. Anyone have an idea how much they might be worth? I also came across an old humbucker single lead with ivory plastic...

    drastic change in action

I have a Guild AO5CE which I normally store in it's case. I just got a new stand for Christmas, so I decided to set the guitar out on it, about 5' to the side of a heating unit in my living room. it was sitting there overnight. Today I went to play it and the action was so low, I was getting...

    hired guns

just sw an interesting movie on Netflix last night - Hired Guns. It's a documentary about the mostly unknown hotshot musicians who are called in to backup mega stars in concerts and recording sessions. Most of it centered around Metal (which I'm not a fan of), but there were some interesting...

    v cable for electrics?

This may be a bizarre question, but my biggest problem with most 2 pickup guitars is the lack of a master volume, which is very handy if you play with both pickups on. Anyhow, i now see that Taylor sells a guitar cable with a built in volume control. I wonder if this would work on something like...

    70's M-75 vs 2000 Bluesbird?

Hey guys - I own a 2000 Bluesbird, love it, but I have a chance to pick up a 70's M-75 with Guild HB-1's for about wha the Bluesbird is worth. I would use it for vintage rock, blues, jazz. If you had to choose, which one would it be?

    F4ce ?

Hey guys, I'm basically an electric player ( I have a Bluesbird), but I'm looking for an accoustic just to play around the house. I ran across someone selling a Westerly made F4CE for under $500. Is this a good deal, what are your thoughts on this guitar?

    Guild sighting - Paul Simon
