Been wanting to learn some music theory. Any tips as to where to start?

I'm a little late to the party, but sounds like a lot of great ideas have already been posted. Know your progressions.....which you probably already do. When we see a song written in the key of G, we, automatically, know the basic chords, one sharp (F#). Mathematical.......Beethoven was a...

Thanks, Tom and Sandy and Steve and Jamie, for letting me know there was a current thread about my blonde F20. It is a great little guitar with a big crisp maple sound. Very comfortable to play. AND, it's pretty, too! ;):cool:

    One Thing Leads to Another

Gosh, Steve, this is astounding family history. Thanks so much for letting us now. Who knew? Right? Still lovin', John Hartford's rendition of "Lorena". Is that a F47? Gosh, I wish I had one circa 1970 Even the new F47s are AMAZING!!!!!!! Steve, didn't you just trade-back a F47 to...

    One Thing Leads to Another

You know how one thing leads to another when searching on the internet? Well, this post is one of those. I started by searching for the lyrics to the Civil War-era ballad, embraced by both Confederate and Union troups, Lorena. (Please let’s focus on Guild and the ballad and nothing else)...

Joe Pug's 1976 Guild Dreadnought Hardshell Case

Interestingly enough, Chris, he kept the D25 that belonged to the case and got a soft case for easier travel when on tour. The result of that was a cracked lower bout. He got a NH D40 which sounds awesome. I contacted Joe if he wanted the case back, but he didn't. Oh well......

Guild Mark VI Artist Special Restoration

Tom, what an amazing restoration! You brought such a damaged guitar back to life! As Sandy said, you're an artist! I would NEVER have guessed this little Mark VI would ever look or play good again....it was in such a bad, bad state. The new owner sure will have one 'special' classical guitar!

Guild Mark VI Artist Special Restoration

Tom and Dave, I just received a phone call from twocorgis to let me know there was a thread about this great old guitar. So, of course, I needed to check to see how its restoration is coming along. Wow, it's been six years, Tom? Just seems like yesterday I met the fellow outside of Austin...

    More Guitar Room Must Haves

Thanks for the info. Sometimes, however, there are copyright infringement rules some vendors go by....yep, even though the picture is of YOUR Guild. Worth a try, though, huh?

    More Guitar Room Must Haves

OK, these are probably not a high priority item for one's guitar/music room, but they are the kewlest pillows I've seen. Price is right (oh, it's for the cover only, not the entire pillow). Well, one thing led to another, so here are a 'few' choices! :biggrin-new: Do you have others to share?
