Has the price of low end Guilds gone up recently?

IMHO, If you are a buyer, the way around problems is to call up the seller and talk to them. Look for a win-win deal. Impart your knowledge to the seller. Don't be pushy or in a hurry. Maybe meet up. Maybe make a friend. It is usually worth it to the the seller to get less but have an easy...

    L. R. Baggs HiFi system

I've recently settled on the K&K with the Sunnaudio DI-2 preamp. For me, the best mix of simplicity, feedback rejection, and tone. In my experience, it works much better with the XLR output, and using phantom power, and asking for XLR instead of 1/4" causes problems in some circumstances. It is...

    Taylor Swift revives Workingman's Dead

You got me! Badly! My favorite album. It, and Old and in the Way, changed my life. I play those songs. Some are obscure enough that I consider them "my" songs.

    Conn guitars

I always wanted a Mossman, but they only built dreads, and I'm off Dreads to smaller bodies.

I was thinking New Hartford, Conn, when I read the title, haha

Tom did a masterful job restoring my D25, many years ago now.

What is it that draws you to Guild guitars?

Playing Guilds now takes me back to my dorm room in the 70's, jamming etc., made possible by Guild. Happy, happy. To this day, they take a lickin and keep on tickin.

    1972 Guild Acoustic - Model #?

I think your assessment of the situation is spot on and objective. Super sorry this happened. The older Guilds are wonderful and I salute those of who put money into them to make them all that they can be.

    80’s D-25 vs 70’s

I had a 1980 D40, and a mid 80s DV52. They were very, very good Dreads, but heavier built. I still have early 70s G37 and D25. They are more resonant and have harder to obtain unique tones. All the Rhode Island Westerly models have stellar examples, IMHO. [Westerly, Rhode Island; New...

    Have I Acquired An Addiction?

Welcome and congratulations. A player needs to buys lots of acoustics to determine which body styles match one's styles of play, which nut size, neck shape, scale length, etc are the best fit. You have to live with various guitars for a while to get it. Figuring all that out over the years has...

How to remove super glue from skin

As a paddler, I've done my share of fiberglassing. Repeated exposure to resins, including superglue, can lead to severe allergic skin reaction. Avoid getting it on your skin is my advice.

How to remove super glue from skin

Yep, I'm a paddler, on the water in the warm months. The doc took a dime sized chunk out of my ear. I was lucky. Get checked!

I played in a tent on a rainy night in the mid-atlantic on Friday night. So happy I had my Rainsong with me.

Straight neck but low saddle ?

My rule, which has served me well, is: Any weirdness or rudeness, I'm gone. Any at all. You should be gone. Especially in this buyers' market. Too many good sellers out there.

    1972 Guild Acoustic - Model #?

I have the same. Irrationally love mine but confess it does not get played much. My smaller short scales get all the attention from my old hands. I love the mahogany neck and silk screen logo, the unique sound from the Maple bowl back, and rather unusual neck shape, skinny but thick feeling...

Problem with skunks around our house

I've heard of skunks eating at rubber hoses and such under vehicles parked at trailheads in Pennsylvania, damaging or disabling them. The widely discussed solution is to scatter a few mothballs under the car as you embark on your backpacking trip. I've done this, and I've put them in perforated...
