    Sex Wax and Wig Glue

Since my wife got me the Pick Punch, I always have a pick nearby, on top of the amp, in my pockets, on my stand - lot's of places closer than the floor... the floor is so far away now-a-days... LoL

    NS Starfire V Mod Idea

Having had all double hum in a 'hog body Guilds for awhile (S-90, S-200, S-300), the OOP gave me that thin Strat or Tele sound, for when my rhythm "chunkin" had to cut through the mix...

    NS Starfire V Mod Idea

Well, of course having the original Guild knob is important. My biggest concern would be the extra depth required for the push me-pull you. Just to estimate, you may want to stick a ruler in the "f" hole and read how much depth you have. Unfortunately the first search didn't have dimensions...

    Any Formula One fans here??

F1 does push the envelope for transportation on 4 wheels, I watch it when I can - wife doesn't like the high-pitched engine sounds... I like motorsports of all sorts, I kind of lean (no motorcycle pun intended) toward IMSA, my all-time favorite car being the classic Porsche 917. Having been born...

    Peter Tork Guild Content

and so, the LIVE thread ends... RIP Peter Tork. One of the few bassists brave enough to be filmed with a Guild Jet Star (what is it with the electrical tape over the name???)

    Anyone remember Heathkit?

The reason I am here was the discovery of The Kingsmen playing Louie, Louie with a Guild SF-5 (Guildsby version of the IV), then found an example of Jack Ely or Turley Richards (a lot of turn-over in the band, especially bass players) playing an SF II Single Cut-away. Early publicity photos look...

    Anyone remember Heathkit?

When I moved, I had to leave my HO Track - both car and train, but I still have my cars and a custom local line locomotive. I had a U- shaped train table and the track layout from Sebring on the floor, I'll have to try to find a picture from 2005 or 6... My Stuka dive bomber made one flight -...

    An Opportunity Presented Itself

Wow! Yes - as many others stated, didn't get to this post until today; a great Christmas story. You mentioned Church, Stu - have you talked to Johnny about his religious beliefs, and is he open? A decent set of clothes (clean jeans and a crew neck in these parts) and a shower after working with...

How to remove the Strap Button

Would lubrication help? I have Dunlops and haven't had nary a squeak or a creak. I wouldn't suggest liquid oil - too much of a drip and mess risk, but I use silicone grease for lubrication (actually used it for my Polyurethane strings on my DeArmond Ashbory) - I got it at a dive shop originally...

looking for a set (4) of dearmond knobs for starfire

Did you get those that were on eBay? I see they were sold already. Is Cosmic Arkie selling you some? I need to check my stash, I know I have some NOS Guild knobs, and I bought some DeArmond ones too, because I was missing the "D" on a couple of my guitars - so I would have to look, but it may...

    Guild Pilot

Haven't read the whole thread, so sorry if this is a repeat... TransBlack... that's as in Transparent and not transitioning (from Charcoal?). Occasionally found on pretty wood like a flame or quilt. Now that I read the rest of the posts, I see this HAS become a color discussion!. Absolutely...

Vintage Starfire bass owners: Can you help with a bridge question?

I too had HO track, I had a large 2nd story room with a "Sebring" track layout. I still have my cars, but I think I had to leave the majority of my track behind when I moved from SW FL (close to Sebring) to Casper WY (in two carloads - the first load was almost exclusively my Fender Rhodes and...

    S300/S60/S65/S70 enthusistasts out there?

...and the name on the Guitar is the very reason I chose my first S-90. I didn't want a Fender Strat or Tele, or Gibson LP or SG - and I couldn't afford them at 16 anyway. Very happy with my extended family of guitars!

    S300/S60/S65/S70 enthusistasts out there?

Hi DrumBob, as a former Guild employee, do you recollect any information about the Madeira, Burnside, and possibly DeArmond lines? As you can see from my signature I am an "All In" Guild fan, including the imports. It is impossible to get much detailed info about the first two since Avnet and...

    S300/S60/S65/S70 enthusistasts out there?

Agreed, and why I disqualified my DiMarzio equipped S300-D from a hypothetical test. True about the electronics too, as stated even the Caps and Pots have tolerances, and even if two pickups are wound in the same factory with the same gauge and number of turns, there will be differences in the...

    S300/S60/S65/S70 enthusistasts out there?

Just think if you had to switch from a strat to a lp... the dialing in would be monumental - at least with the Guilds - you don't feel like you are cheating on your true love ;/ There are times when during the set I need the dark brooding of my HB1's and then another song needs the sparkle or...

    S300/S60/S65/S70 enthusistasts out there?

(in reference to stclrob's picture) ...and a B301 or 302 under it!!! Awesome! I wish I could compare a S300, S300-A and S300 WAL to see what difference the tonewoods make (if any)... Please do not take this post as starting the tonewoods discussion again - but this would be the perfect vehicle...

    Peregrine History

Now "THAT" is funny... I was fortunate, my wife was with me when i dragged her into the pawn shop to show her my Quilt Maple Peregrine, and she encouraged me to buy it, as a matter of fact, had to put some of it on her card because there was a limit on mine! But i usually get - "You don't play...

New to Me, "By Guild" acquisitions...

My first Burnside "by Guild" was a bolt-on Super Strat with the pointy headstock and "V" fretboard markers. I picked up a real Guild S-284 sometime after I sold the Burnside (in the late '90s), but the Active EMGs did not have the power and tone of those Jap passive PUs. I wanted another...

Just bought a store demo T Bird in black ...My current Guild @3...

I have an original with the mini HBs from 1964. With the original wood case, it is a pretty heavy package to walk more than a few blocks with! (lol) The three switch panel can give you some added sounds not offered by an SG, but be careful since if you have both P.U.s off, when you go to the...
