1969 Guild Starfire II neck cracks

The guitar fell forward and landed face down on the soundboard and fretboard. The cracks in the finish and along the neck joint are the result of the impact. If the guitar plays fine it’s just mojo

    Amp Tremolo

I use the tremolo in my amp (74 Peavy classic…great amp btw) turned on to about 1/4 or less. It just gives the guitar (79 Les Paul with really buttery series 7 pickups) just a little more presence on a clean channel. Distorted it’s useless of course.

    Guild D-50 vs D-55

Wood, finish, strings, humidity, pick material, playing/strumming style, the room, etc etc etc can and does make every d50 sound different. Don’t get hung up on the model designation, find a guitar that feels good and sounds pleasing TO YOUR EAR and enjoy it.

    How many?

Per what Br1ck said, I’m fortunate to be able to own whatever instrument I desire. Currently I have 164 acoustic and electric guitars. 2 of them are kept at my main house, the other 162 are kept at an outbuilding I call Guitar center. I play them as often as I feel the need.

Seymour Duncan dual coil sound hole pickup

anyone have one? Reviews? I need a portable pickup for very occasional use. I had a dimarzio version that pooped the bed, but the sound was ok, not well made. I’m considering a Seymour. Thanks in advance.

Woody they’re all I use. Current set on my d50 is 7 months old and just now starting to sound like I need a replacement.

    What makes a good banjo?

I don’t care for the bluegrassy pluckin’ banjo sound, but I have heard some recent “Americana” stuff where the banjo was being lightly strummed or finger picked as a secondary instrument and I thought it was a very nice addition to the mix of the songs. I considered getting a banjo at one time...

    Covid vaccine

Not sure what you mean by that, but if your comment is a swipe at those who are skeptical of putting inadequately tested chemicals in ones body, well I think that was uncalled for. My daughter was required to have the vaccine to continue her doctoral internship and she had a severe and...
