That truss rod cover is original to the bass, it came from the factory upside-down. When Guild switched to these tuners, they had to flip the TRC. This has come up before. Shortly after this bass was built, they strated stamping the TRC's with the model designation. A lefty surfaced here...

New Guitar. A Decision Must Be Made.

Eastmans are fine i'm sure, but to me they are nothing so special. I actully had an odd first impression of one. Remember it is always the player that will make the guitar sing (unless you find a really, really, bad guitar). So, get whatever guitar you want. If it were me, I would get a...

    A Sheryl Crow Bass

here's something you dont see every day, Ms. Crow and Ms. Price (pregnant) next to each other, with the solid M-85-1 and hollow M-85-1 also next to each other. from a few years ago. not the best angle, but you can see the difference in the big Westerly bass headstock and the smaller Hoboken...

    A Sheryl Crow Bass

we have seen her M-85-1 before, it has popped up here at LTG, it has been a while. She does own several M-85's. Generaly she is seen with the solid body M-85-2. However, she does own a hollow M-85 with Bisonic, also. I don't think she tours with that one. I have seen a picture of it...

here is a photo of the suck switch components in the circuit, that cause the unwanted results. two extra green chicklet caps, a random resistor, and a transformer. here is a deep-hard circuit (the black square is the mini-switch): both basses are single-pickup, in the neck position, specimens.

    NBD - Need Expert Input

The suck switch has a transformer/coil/choke (whatever you want to call it), on a single coil pickup, which is the specific source of the tone-suckage. In my experience it is mainly a (big) signal/volume drop. The deep hard switch, simply put, does not have this (or any)...

    Guild Flying V ever made?

"I would increase the Alnico magnets in the pickups," to me qualifies as a hot rodding. It definitely sounds like a signal boost. If he says he did the same in his other Guilds, that makes sense, those sound similar, but those also have extensive electronic mods.

    Guild Flying V ever made?

That flying v jetstar bass circiutry and/or its bisonics may have been hot rodded by Wickersham or Alembic. Somone posted a while ago that there is a photo where it looks like the cable is a 5-pin like for an Alembic. To me, i'm not sure, but it sounds like something is active or hot rodded...
